looks good, like the cooler setups.
what workshop is that, got some pretty serious looking cars, the MK1, and the very nice R100 aswell?!?!?
thanks,
the shop is westside mufflers at padstow
I thought the join in the swing axle boot was supposed to be in the horizontal position, the rest looks great.
cooling gearbox oil?
nick
just finished the gearbox lift.
what do you think.
and it is all going under the shiter
I see your car parked out the front of the shop all the time, nice and low ! Did you own the purple Type 3 wagon that was for sale there a while back ?
that was a mates car.we just trashed for a year or two.he had no were to keep it and i needed something to drive.
i had it re-sprayed and re-trimed and returned it to him at the shootout.
you have too much time on your hands:Pbut its good to see they are doing good things, cant wait to see it all under your 61
Very nice, i have welded a plate from the torsion bar to the front gear box mount to strengthen that area and also added a 3 bar kafer cup bar.
Very nice. LOT of work.
Kudos, and respect.
nice work. very nice.:thumb
why do you need a cooler for the gearbox?
Hi Westi
Work must be slow if you have time to work on your car.
By the way thanks for the great work on the intercooler.
Steve
Nice! chassis AND barrel cooler!

Join should be approx 45deg from vertical.
thanks for the tips on the boots, and cheer's for the nice comments.
i should be starting on the brakes and coil overs soon ..
i had a friend help out that doesn't know to much about vw's,and since that is my dumby gearbox i haven't bothered to fix them. i might offend
him, then i will have no more slave labour to help me out on those late lonley nights.
as for the gearbox oil cooler, gearbox and diff in one . create alot of heat that is not needed in your engine bay.the bearings and gear's need all
the help they can get.
i haven't tried it on a vw as yet ,but i have done alot of these styles of set ups on drift &circut cars and it work's quite well .(lifespan of
bearings ,gears etc.etc)
hi steve, you can only work on other peoples projects for so long before you get the shit's.but it pay's the bills so i can't complain to
much, nobody listens. good to see it is all coming together for you.next time your out my way can you drop in, i need to pic your brain.
Hi Westi
I drove past late last night, saw the lights on but I couldn't stop, by the number of cars there you wouldn't have been lonely.
Steve
what do you think old school or pimped
Nice work Westi!
Hi Westi... nice work mate.
I also drove past the other night and saw your slammed dub...very low mate. Nice work.
There was also a VERY hot looking white Beetle parked behind it - a real head turner. Is that yours too?
no that's Alison,s car .it has been around for about 10 od years .
they also own a pink type3 wagon
the wheels make the car.
here is a few pics of some of the customers cars that keep me and the boy's from working on our own projects.
this is a car that we did for auto salon mag
and some of
the boy's welding

and some head work pic,s before they got finished off
oop's
i laid to many pic's on top of each other, soory about that.
Wow - nice pics (and work) mate!
Do you guys do all the aluminium (panel) work yourselves inc. bead rolling etc?
Looks awesome!
Looks fantastic!
What happens with the gear shift linkage end of things with the box sitting 2" higher now? I'm keen to see how you tackel that as i'm thinking of
doing the same thing to allow a set of 18's under my car...
Cheers,
If you raise the tranny around 1.25" to 1.5" you can use an early Bus(211) nose cone and keep the shift rod in the tunnel.
how nice is those welds..
