I will try this once more...If there is no success. Okay, seeing that Wes has kindly helped me out, I'll give a little info on my Lovely little
Squareback. I bought her in Canberra last year while visiting and unfortunately saying goodbye to a Grandfather, something good came out of the
visit...my girlfriend Rowena drove the type 3 back to Lennox Head, while i steered our '76 transporter, (also rock solid, now in another's care!)
and she didn't miss a beat the whole trip, the car, not Rowena. It's a bullet proof 1500 single carby that still accelerates uphill without effort
and has the quietest gearbox in any of my previous type 3 wagons. Fuel consumption for the trip was $105.00 using BP ultimate, not great with the
maths but I figured about 1200km's with a few detours here and there, maybe someone with better than 6th grade math can tell me the MP gallon
consumption?, anyway... no pinging no stalling, no Problems. When we got her home, I dropped the oil and gave her a tune and she still purrs...well,
has a rumble as I like to HEAR my VW's, the baffle pipe from the muffler back was ceremoniouly replaced with a stainless pipe....Sweeet, our dogs
know the type 3 from any of our other Dubs. In short, it's a
FANTASTIC ride and I would not sell her for Quids!

Thanks Liam...at least you got yourself a pretty choice example. Hood ride? nahhh. Rem, too shiny for that, it is posted there but the type 3 square
that I own is too straight and clean, if i want to do anything to it's current state, it will be limited to touching up the paint and tidying up the
bumpers, simply removing the caps and swapping the exhaust changes her appaerance and sound remarkably...best of both worlds. I LOVE TYPE 3's
