Better late than never. Here's some photo's on how good old Daggy ABBY - 1975 Bay Pop Top Camper is going.

The decision was made to transform this Dag into something that would make some heads move. For sometime now we've been having major problems with Abby's motor from over heating, pinging, blowing smoke etc etc etc just basically causing us and anyone else that knew her grief.

Mum Fay, finally took on the offer from her brother and owner of LeGrand Body Works Beaudesert, Noel LeGrand, to offload Abby for a couple of months so he can weive his magic. And mate he has certainly done an awesome job so far. This old school panel beater absolutely knows his stuff and you can see the passion in his work. He's had so much fun restoring Abby that now he's got the Bug and on the look out for his own Kombi to restore...

Yes we are keeping the bumper bar (not my decision) but it looks fantastic

OK OK OK OK, we saw her on Mother's Day (yesterday) and my uncle has done an awesome job so far - seeing her for the first time in months, I had tears






Her bumpers have been re chromed and re placed tail lights with crystal onces - they will also be featured at the front

We are about half way there. Still waiting for all the finishing touches like new interior fully re upholstered, new door cards fitted, all new window rubbers and new tinted windows fitted, new hatch fitted to pop top, tyre rims resprayed, new tyres with white walls fitted, new interior furniture totally replaced and her new signature decal fitted to the back.

We were hoping that she would be completed by KlubFest 2007, but this may not be the case and looks like her older sister, FERN will be the only representative from our family going.

Hope you like our girl so far and she is most definately not DAGGY ABBY anymore - THATS FOR SURE.

My lovely ladies... what can i say, but "HUBBA HUBBA". I think Ray has found a new and younger woman to frolick with now! Abby is truely looking amazing, and you havent spared a cent in making her look glamorous!!!!

We are going to look even hotter crusing together again soon. Well done my girls. Bob and i are extremely impressed with the time and work that has been put in. It has paid off that Noel is a perfectionist, as she is coming up a treat!

Just waiting on some parts from George @ Classic Vee Dub and looks like Abby will be getting ready to leave the panel shop (hopefully ova the next few weeks) Then she'll be ready for her new interior... Not sure if she'll be ready for KLUBFEST, but that's our goal.

:thumb:thumb:thumb It's been confirmed Miss ABBY will be coming out for KLUB FEST. Her exterior will be complete however only half of her interior will be done, but never the less our new Green Family member will definately be coming out 16th June.

Sorry cant show any new photo's you'll have to see ABBY in the flesh in June.

ABBY'S update - Having some problems getting quarter glass rubbers - went to Bus Stop yesterday, but Roy's shipment didn't come through. Which is a shame cos we are wanting to get the windows tinted this week, but this job is on hold till the rubbers come in.

However, her wheels have been painted (same colour as the awesome bumper bar colour) they look HOT HOT HOT. Noel will be putting the new tyres (truck tyres for better handling) and white walls today.

The hood lining is partly installed (looks really great, crisp and clean) the new aqua canvas will be put into the pop top this week and then the rest of the hood lining installed.

Mum and Noel picked up the woodgrain flooring on the weekend and just looks great in Abby. We wanted to get the interior professionally done, but the guy we want to go through isn't able to do it til October. So mum's gonna have a go her self (she renovated her slide on caravan some years ago and did a really great job, so I'm sure she'll give it her best) Some of the old furniture will be going back for Klubfest though.

Damo was with us last night and he saw Abby in the flesh, he was impressed. Our girl is lookin good. Poor Ferny, she's gonna need some serious detailing before going out with Abby.

Quarter rubbers arrived last week, so now the window tinting can be completed hopefully next week. In addition the canvas should be done late next week early week after then the rest of the hood lining can be completed.

The furniture plans have been drawn up so now we know what we want, this will be the final and HUGE job. But like I said before - this will not be completed by Klubfest.

Also I designed a tyre cover today, so mum's running this by Noel and hopefully we will be able to go with this design - it will be screen printed... So stay tuned on this one.
