Hi,
You can take the metal channel strip holding the rubber seal around the boot,
and replace it with Mexican type seal
which clips onto the bonnet lip...
You will still need the original rubber across the top...
You can do the same with the engine lid seal

well this is the way we fix the rusty front
thanks goes to glider69 Rob for the baja kit
now its looking better, i think those bug eyed baja kits are the dogs nads. i'd love one.
so are you going to keep it orange or has the kit put a different perspective on the car now?
ive got 4 litres of red paint i got for nicks so red it will be,and will have to put wider apart headlights for rego, but will probably put some spotties in the middle holes
do you want to sell the guards that came off it ?? let me know.
Cheers

well a little update it now looks like this
more updates
well the Oz day long weekend seemed as good as any to do some rust work
the dark area had a plate pop riveted and a few tack welds over the rusty bits
both rear corners and the left hand heater channel bottom corner along the lip
next to fill in the holes some idiot cut for speakers
a couple of 15 x 6" rims i picked up ,so now i need some 235 /75 x 15 a/t tyres for them
well the rims now have tyres, $85 each with 10mm tread depth
and a full shot
hopefully start the bar-work next week as the tube has been ordered, just waiting for it to be delivered to my work
and the baja now belongs to me, as the daughters bf decided it was costing to much,so i paid him his original purchase price as i`ve bought
everything else
can a mod please move to offroad veedubs
cool stuff. looking good. love a bug eye baja!
noice going man.
flying through it.
looks fantastic already, i love bug eyes.
keep us updated
more work done, thanks to westi for bending the pipe for me
exhaust ive ordered
with this muffler
started rubbing back
Just curious. Are the rear guards meant to be splayed out on the baja or are brackets going to be attatched to bring them in? cheers

Good on ya Poddo!
ur flying threw it man.
Got me motivated for this weekend :P
Got a shiz load of study, but will surely fit time in. The bf gonna let you take it for a spin once shez done?
its mine now Chris as he couldnt afford all the stuff i`m buying for it ,so i paid him original purchase price and so the story unfolds
hell yea!
Then man, i can't wait till we both finish and i eventually get some spare time to tail u down the dunes ur way or sumfin and have a blast. :P
dubs always look betta in pairs, and even better when bug eyed
well i`ve mounted the crossbar ,but my hoop part seems to be going \ will have to sort it out as i go
added rear bar this weekend and trial fitted exhaust will have to add another cross brace underneath then take it to work to weld it up fully
with a better mig than i have at home
