urban_myths new ride...
urban_myth - August 25th, 2007 at 11:30 PM

So... my journey with car ownership began with this:

Then I got bitten by the bug and just had to get one:

Then she got written off by some bimbo from the north shore and i moved away from the old and slow dub to a turbocharged r33 skyline:

Now after 11 months without a volkswagen and realising how much of a stuff up buying the skyline was i'm returning again... stay tuned for pics

yee gods man! what on earth was you thinking with the corolla? the bug looks a real beute, shame you lost it. skyline?? are you minted? wow theres a money eater, and a licence looser! go get yourself a nice kombi, the chicks love em, they loved mine when i was young!

there are a few karmann ghias about at the mo, all of em need work! lets us know what you decide! good luck.....perhaps you should have a poll on which car? the corolla would be zero, the skyline 35%, the bug 65% the next 3 you have in mind????

Hey nothing wrong with the Corolla for a first P plate runabout, reliable as hell and I used to cane the crap outta mine and it came back for more.
The Skyline...well not a fan. Look forward to see the new addition...any more hints??

Thursday is delivery day. Its brand new, and the colour is Black Magic.

The bug was a bit of a lemon tho... after the accident we found lots of dodgy accident repairs which would have needed doing had we wanted to do something special with the car. Got more money back from the woman's insurance company than i spent on the car though which is a plus.

Well after much much hassle and stress I finally picked it up. A brand new Golf Comfortline 2.0 TDI with DSG in black. Set me back roughly $38000 with the paint protection but well worth every cent. Such a beautiful car to drive, the torque of the diesel is unbeleivable and the DSG is awesome. Have done nearly 400k's from half a tank of city driving including much lead-foot driving. The sound system is great and it is the most comfortable car I have ever had the pleasure of riding in. Cruising on the freeway with the fuel consumption average sitting on 4.8 litres to 100km also stirs the envy of everyone I speak to.

Worth every cent of the purchase price.

Sorry about the crappy phone camera pics.

Well there you go...nice choice.

A mate has the 1.9TD and it goes well...sad they sound like a rattler on the outside though.

I've always wondered what the Turbo diesel polo goes like given it's smaller and lighter than the golf.

Congrats mate.

A lot better than the Golf.... not bad at all

But NO WAY near as good as one of these.
Had a loaner once when my Mk 4 golf was serviced and these thing rock.
Unbelievable 0-60km time. Slows a bit after that.

Nice car :thumb

very very nice Jason, fellow at work keeps asking me about these and the diesel Jetta as his son wants to buy one:thumb

I test drove the 1.9 tdi and the 2.0 has so much more grunt. There are so many cool features on the car, like heated mirrors, auto headlights and wipers. Everything is nice and simple to use as well. It feels way quicker than the 0-100 times suggest...
