My VWFREAK Beetle
VWFREAK - September 27th, 2007 at 12:32 PM

This is my 65 beetle, some of you may have seen this before but I changed the look and gone for a Old School, meets, Rat, meets Drag. Gotta be different.

Nice, I like it a lot

VDUBXTC - September 27th, 2007 at 01:45 PM

Nice work there mate. Love the 2 tone paint. Nice stance to, not to high in the rear and not to low. Love it.
Nice touch with the lugage rack on the back to:thumb:thumb

VWFREAK - September 27th, 2007 at 03:34 PM

Thanks guys, I can't go as low as I would like on the rear, due to the extended sump and the 225/50/15's on the rear. I run the rake look, gives it a nice old school racer feel.

VDUBXTC - September 27th, 2007 at 03:47 PM

Naaa mate.
Its spot on with the ride height. Its hot as:thumb

Taz Devil - September 27th, 2007 at 04:55 PM

Looking good Pete.... Sitting nice at that height....We are in Brisvegas at the moment and I am off to Micks Motors tomorrow to spend....gotta watch the weight limit for the flight home though.

Hey Adam, go nuts at Micks. Just cut Rachel away to gain a little more weight for the flight home.

The rear rims are 9 inch rims, offset was a nightmare but with the help of some CB spacer, a grinder and BFH they squeezed in just right.

The whole idea was to keep it original looking, if you can call it original. lol

Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh at the Canberra German day. I just wish mine was ready to take again this year.

VWFREAK - September 29th, 2007 at 12:15 PM

She'll be at the Autofest alright, should be interesting to see what the classic German scene thinks of my old girl. The interior should have them shaking there heads, especially the roof.

Also vehicles attending are required to have a drip tray, canberra area requirement, even if your ride doesn't leak.:duh

Taz Devil - September 29th, 2007 at 12:17 PM

Hey Pete

Went to Micks.....Man could build a Dub from ground up without leaving the shop....Pity about the weight limit....

Check this link out for info on the Autodest.

Also the beam has been narrowed 4 1/2 inches the max you can go and still have shokies without chopping the body. But only with Bugboy's custom towers. Normally you can only get 4 inches and still retain shokies, but with his custom design you get another 1/2 inch. 1/2 inch sweeter in my books.

VWFREAK - October 8th, 2007 at 07:54 PM

Guess what arrived in the mail today ? The new solenoids I need to the NOS instillation, I feel a few back road tests coming up in the coming months. I feel a HP shot coming on.

Still haven't told the wife, I can already envisage her response. lol
