my 62 splitty.
been busy doing stuff, and it has been a while since ive posted much on the forums, but i thought a sneak preview and plus a look back at George.
first some of the old from when first found and thru the years...
when first found...
sitting at home ... this was suppose to be the lady's new convertable!
first on the road... long time ago now
various stages...
last seen...
Bored with the matt black and now after more than three months in the shed in primmer, waiting for me to make up my mind...
still needs a bit more to do yet, but for now, jsut happy to be driving again.

Looks great just the way it is now. It sort of has that old skool suede look
Hey Superstar,
That photo taken at Morriset shows a few changes to cars over the years. Some on here might recognize what they are driving now but I doubt it.
Looks good may see you on the weekend.

what a great day at Old Bar... and the trip up with the other kombi's was well worth the drive from taree to sydney to meet them.
a lot of people saw George at OldBar and i heard a couple of rumours... these really annoyed me, so i wanna clarify my ride.
the legend behind George is Mike at Custom Bugs and Buses. this man saved my pride and joy and renewed my VW experience, and i have
nothing but praise for this man (as a lot of you know). All the mechanical is CBB inspired and as a lot know, and a few saw on the weekend, the ol'
splitty gets along pretty nice. So despite what some have said and others heard, Mike is the man and i am fortunate to drive his work daily.
some of Mikes work is the narrowed ball joint beam, four wheel discs conversion, straight axle conversion rear end, 1776 ported/polished twin carb
engine. infact all the bits that make it go hard and stop harder. jsut unfortunate that i am not close enough to allow him to keep it all at its
finest.
nuf said.
i must say ive driven george and she roars the most powerful splitty ive driven loved it .. Thanks WES , yes black gloss would look better on the wheels but its the ninja star look on those wheels that needs some old skool flavr , great to see u back in the vw vibe..
