Hey,
It's a 1968 Notchback which I have just had painted in royal blue. It was my first car, owned by an old couple. There are 46,000 original miles
on it. The motor is a freshly built low compression 1776 and the gearbox is a Shimo built IRS 4 speed. I've converted to IRS, type 4 discs up
front, late type 3 drums in the rear. It's ready for forced induction - probably a Toyota supercharger will go on in the near future.
Was going to go turbo, but there's too much plumbing! The flutes cut in the front are for a radiator for the water to air intercooler (if I go
turbo).
It's a labour of love and won't be finished anytime soon unfortunately but it's my baby! I hope you like it.
Cheers!
JT

Very nice and like said before it all takes time( and money and money)
Kewl, glad it fits the bill :-)
Here's a pic of the motor before I installed it. All tin and shrouding was blasted and powdercoated, and cylinders were painted black
(theoretically for better heat dissipation).
Compression is 6.7:1, semi hemi type 3 heads, 3 angle valve cut, std VW valves, swivel feet valve adjusters, 12V beetle case, mahle 90.5mm pistons
rings and barrels, std cam and crank, full flowed, Berg oil pump cover, rebuilt solex carbs (for sale!)
deep sump, etc etc
I like it...prefer to be driving it though :-)
Coming along nicely, love the colour
love it, looking for the next update
that's very good looking. Keep up the good work and quality. Kewl!
