.
Thanks Joel.. hopefully they'll fix my account soon so i can post new topics!
I've been after a cool spacious cruiser for a while now, but never really had the cash to REALLY look..
A friend of a friend had this car he picked up a couple of months ago that he had plans for, but never had the time cause he was working too much.
He had some unexpected bills come up so he had to get rid of it quick.
Went to have a look at it.. its a 1970 Toyota Crown.. and its sweet as! Only a few patches of very minor rust here and there.. EVERYTHING works
(including the ultra-cool electric ariel) and it runs smooth as. Its a 2.3 litre 6 with a 3 speed auto. Not quick but i'm used to that with the VW's
anyway :P
Only things wrong with the interior is a tiny rip in drivers seat and a bigger one on the top of the back seat
The car is going to become my daily, since i lowered gwen it hurts my other half's back, and raising it back up is OUT OF THE QUESTION!!
But overall i'm very happy with my purchase.. considering it cost me the grand sum of $300..
PICS!!
Slam it slam it slam it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah....got a soft spot for the old Crown. A very underrated vehicle. My pop has a '76 and I swear that there wouldn't be too much around on the
market these days that would touch the ride quality of that thing...even with today's tech.
A gorgeous machine.....congratulations!
Yes
the Toyota Crowns were a very good car...
does yours have the overdrive knob on the dash that You pull out?
this may have been only on manual cars..
cheers
Lee
Yeah was chatting with my fiance's dad.. he worked on these when they were new..
Overdrive was only on the manuals..
Sorry but sacrafices must be made. SLAM IT!!!!!!!!
You know a new other half would solve the 'cant lower it' problem....
haha, my 1st car was a toyota crown, took me faithfully sydney to byron many many times, like sitting on a lounge the whole way...
I agree slam it...
Maybe i'll just have to lower it an inch a year or something...
Fantastic bargain, the early crowns are a pretty nice looking car and so underrated. the wagon version of your model looks unreal.
Thanks.. really hoping to get some decent pics of it soon.. It looks much prettier than those pictures show.
I've decided to name the car Kujira.. or Kuji for short.. Kujira means whale in Japense
I've seen this beast on the road now and it really does look mint!
Sorry I missed you yesterday jo, I was meant to be somewhere about an hour beofre I passed you!
Still needs slammin'.......
No probs..
We'll have to do a barbeque or cruise or something again soon.. that was fun!
Yeah I reckon that can be arranged......
