Thanks to sketty (Chris) for selling me this fine old 57 11 window.
After selling my double door panel to Ben (ready for a ratty resto), I needed a split to to fill the void (since the barny will be a much longer term
resto). Therefore this bus will suffice - will be much more family friendly with our new bub on the way in less than two months!
Anyway plans are to fix the necessary rust and have it structurally sound for rego purposes but it will keep its current patina where possible for
now. Hopefully get it on the road as soon as time permits although I'll only really be only able to work on it after hours (since I will be busy with
other people's projects nowadays!).
As you can see I need a front seat and some other bits!
Although its rusty the thing I love about this bus is there are no previous "repairs" I will have to undo - what you see is what you get! No shiny
paint to hide nasties
After collection today from sketty, I dropped it off to Custom Veedub for an IRS conversion. Once I get it back I'll narrow the beam and start the
rust repairs. I'd like to have it on the road for valla but I think I'll be too tied up with other's resto's which have to come first!
more progress when it happens
Al
Hey nice car trailer .....
So u sold the double door and bought another, man you are a sucker for old rusted metal ....
Good luck with it and is that a beach Buggy I see, didn't take long for you to see the light, so did you swap the oval for it ?
Oops just read your post and had another look at the pics.. You are out the back of Custom Vee Dub, no wonder there are beach bussies in the picture, a MaxFx by the looks of it .
Yeah that trailer would certainly be familiar for you hey Brad! Wish you got around to installing those longer ramps before you left!! hehehe You and
your bloody wide track off road buggy trailers (not that I am complaining though as Andrew was kind enough to lend me your trailer whilst you are out
of the country!).
No buggy for me just yet - you are right this was out the back of Custom Vee Dub. New engine coming from the US some time this year for the oval (2442
turbo/efi)....look out gearbox and axles!
Al
That wheel alignment on the bus looks pretty radical Al'!
Put that turbo motor and box in that bus.
reding my mind Dangerous. turbo EFI in the bus........ do it!!!!

You lot are a bad influence! I want to run the 'big' engine in the oval to see how quick/fast I can travel the quarter in first....maybe at a later
stage but we'll have to see!
Of course you can! Ala Kawell's Bus!
Do it as a Business advertising project!
Tax Deductable!
Genius, Craig! Such a sensible move, for any small business, least not one run by a family man.
After a bit of a stint at Custom Veedub (big thanks to Pete and Dave), the IRS conversion is now done and the bus is back at home whilst the oval is
at work getting its paint job. Now the rear end is sitting nicely. I just have to wait for my front end bushings and side plates to arrive so I can
build its narrowed beam!
Since customers cars take priority now my cars will take a little longer to complete!
fancy a corona do you Al? just wanted to be the first to pick you on that...that is one lucky bus to be home at your place
Yeah mate, unfortunately I seem to fancy a few to many every now and again
is it done yet ?
the only time you have a drinking problem is when youve fallen and cant reach another.
ohh look fwd to this rust bucket becoming reborn again..
nice one das..
