now what do we call that paint in Australia ?
I had a mate who's a father did a similar thing with a baby grand piano years back. some dufus had painted it with brown housepaint or something, so he sanded it all back, painted it with like a million thin coats of jet black enamel. then the sanding began. all by hand too. got all the brush marks out and polished it up to mirror finish. sold it for a mint apparently.
Thats how Rolls Royce and a number of other british built cars used to be painted, there are still shops in the uk that restore to original and they
use a paint brush then cut back and polish.
When i first went into the trade it was in a resto shop and the old fella refused to use a spray gun(in his sixtys 20 years ago) and was painting
brush.
The results that are achieved are amazing and amoung the best u will ever see. The time spent doing it is so high that with moden day aplications its
just not worth doing.
i cant remember the brand of paint he used just remember he had in in a bucket of hot water while painting so it flowed better..

a guy at work painted his first car in england with an old poison pump sprayer like you see in the cartoons filled with thinned out paint ! found it rather amusing he says it done a great job but I would like to see proof !
