Not wrong Brad, I will be seeing the guys at COR about Shockies a bit closer to the finish.

At least the paint lasted 2 years even though the shockies were dead after 6 months.

Long travel BJ's are a WANK ... if you clearance stock ones they get better travel than the "Long Travel".

If you want real travel you have to go 181 Spindles and arms .

Howdy Steff No real time plan just as fast as we can and the wallet can afford.

Yeh chuck them in they will go nice on my mates the Hot rod CB thats in the yard.

The plans well IRS 1600 box, 2in body lift, adjustable front beam, new shockies all round, new paint job inside and out.

Ok Brad you got my attention how would you clearance stock ones?

This stuff is all new to me.

Brad - August 16th, 2008 at 09:04 PM

To clearance them you just pull the boots off and die grind where they hit on full travel, the trick is the angle you do and only doing one side, they are either raised or lowered but never both. Then you just judge how much meat you take out.

why ?

i thought coil overs were the be all and end all of shock absorbers ?

Midlife crisis - August 17th, 2008 at 07:56 PM

Because these one's are the cheapo ones, the shocks died real fast, getting good ones soon.

so there's no problems with decent coilovers on beetles ? also, how hard is it to fit them to a '69 beetle (sorry for the thread hijack)

Midlife crisis - August 18th, 2008 at 06:27 AM

They bolt up the same standard and they also raise the body up with the coils.
