Here's a couple of pics of my 1965 Beetle. I gave it a rebuild with the intention of it being a daily driver back in 2003 and it was driven daily up
until April earlier this year. The fact it was in daily use was starting to show and I decided to give it a semi retirement.
It still has the 1200 and is stock standard except for a 009 Distributor... Which I'm not exactly sure if it does provide any extra power to a 1200
I have taken it on many trips across the state without any major problems. I am however going to give it another rebuild in the not too distant
future... A fresh respray in Gulf Blue again but with Ivory below the swage line and maybe a change of wheels and an adjustable front beam and a
rebulit 1600 twin port for some better hill climbing ability.
Wow, I thought in the first photo it already had a full resto recently and it looks great. Good luck with the future plans.

Thanks Kev, I'm just fussy... At the time of buying it some years ago now, it sat in my garage for 12 months before I started tearing it apart for a
resto. Soon after I saw a UK VW magazine with a so-called "Rat Look" Bug in it! I could not believe it, this bug would have made a perfect rat look
with a nice set of wheels but, it was too late. Now I'm struggling to find the look I like.

Love it. Nice color.
love the bug and the trailer just makes it awesome :P
nice ride .......just strap on some chrome BRM's and it's happy days for your new look
Hey guys,
The colour is the factory original VW Gulf Blue. I sprayed it myself back in 2003 in acrylic and I then drove it daily up until 12 mths ago. I am
going to respray it again hopefully over the next summer in two pack. Acrylic just isn't as durable. I have found it chips very easily from stones
etc. I would love to get a set of BRM's and lower the front-end but, I am also about to start a build up on a 62 Bug which may end up being a Cal
