My daily driver Mk4 Golf
Mountains Greg - December 6th, 2008 at 11:42 PM

This is my 2000 Golf 1.6 Must admit I still miss driving my Beetle every day to work etc but, on hot days the air-cond is a welcome luxury nowadays.

Not alot planned for the Golf except some decent wheels after the new year and I would like to have some sections of the car re-painted. The previous owner did'nt seem to care for it too much. At the time of looking for a Golf it was very difficult to find one in good cond without all the parking dents they seem to suffer in the city. Three days were spent driving all over Sydney and the northern beaches searching for the right one and this was the best of a bad bunch at the time. Only drama I have had since buying it was on the third day of ownership after a downpour of rain water poured in through the sunroof!!! Turned out to be blocked drainage tubes :!:

They're good cars, just make sure you dont use the electric windows as they only have plastic guides on the cables and will break.

I guess I'll just have to use the sunroof then  I have seen a few used power window pieces on ebay. Maybe I should buy a few and put them away incase I need them. I'd hate to think how much a replacement from VW would cost.
