Hey folks, well this is my 74 kombi van,
my main ambition was to get the van registered, i soon came to the relisation that this was going to take some time, patience and alot of hard work to
get it at least road worthy, regitered.
well here's how i found good old bob day 1, with the help of handy hire trailer yippie, S*&T was i in for a surprise...
my plan to get it roadworthy and registered soon started to get very far away, luckily i had plenty of help from friends weather i needed it or not,
motivation soon started to kick in and i started to see the light at the end, although getting it to the RW state i wasnt too fussed with asthetics i
just wanted to drive it and enjoy, so the van was just tidied up and mechanicaly sorted.
a rough total of 40 matt black spray cans were used to cover the sexy german metal and some damn nice bbs wheels were bolted on for good measure. mind
you i always had plans for this van but being still at school and having a job that pays as much as a nike sweat shop worker i really had some doubts
although i was stoked that i had even made it this far.
finally driving the van around for roughly 2years in its glamerous plooming black i had saved some $$ to tidy it up a little so it all began..
heres how the van looked all stripped down
strippen the van back...
here's some more pics of the van begin stripped back to bare metal. enjoy
here some more of the van in metal..
it was now ready to be taped up and primed in 2pac debbers & roberlo
and finally it was completely covered in primer all ready to be rubbed down.
and then it was time for me to wet rub this baby down, with precise instructions from the pro at hand i got stuck into it. mmm nice reflection eh!, i soon had an even geater appreciation for ppl who do this every day, finger tips bleeding, panels turning into a marage and just the damn size of the panels!!ahhh this took ages!! but was all totally worth it. learning every step of the way with the pro watching over my shoulder i can now say that IT IS ALL IN THE PREP WORK!!!
freshly painted!!
great stuff...well done ...keep it happening
This is how the van looks now....
man that looks totally awesome my hats tipped to you and your hard work

I have to say, I am glad to see there are young people these days that are willing to work real hard for what they want. You are one of them. And always willing to help others too.
Well done man
looks like a real head turner to say the least..
Lets start with - i am old
That said - the wheels are not my choice
BUT THE BODY WORK AND PAINT
Glad to see you pick a solid colour
It saddens me to see people put SO MUCH wor in a car and then paint it some strange colour
Well done Nutter
Sweet bus, keep up teh good work. I'm with the others good to see a guy put in the hard yards for something he really wants.
Nice work mate, you quickly appreciate how long the prep work takes when you have to do it yourself hey!
Al
I am sure the pro watching wasn't going to do it all for him.

I think I saw you stopped in the service station in Bulleen. I was in the orange/white kombi at the lights.
Cool looking bus!
Goes good too. Will be good to see what you have coming up for the interior.
well done nutter looks th goods for a bling kombi man i recon slam it on 15" black steelies, chrome nuts thick white wallls and a nice white stripe up the front and over the roof should do it or a white race circle on the side number 69 in orange black edge retro racer look ,just my 2 bucks
I am 40, but appreciate both old school and new school builds. This Bus is a credit to you Nutter. Love the paint and the wheels.
