Hey guys, just got a beetle '59 /'62. Its sitting at house of Dodd at the moment, not knowing much about cars i want a pro to fix it so that i can tinker when it actually works!

My immediate plans -

Lower front to match the back
14 x 7 inch rear wheels.
Paint rims red / Add rubber white walls / Add fish bowl hubs
Paint body mat black
Add white skull and cross bones to both doors
Add 3 spoke steering wheel (wooden outer, steel inner)
Add tach, FUEL GAUGE!, Engine temp etc
Upgrade to disk brakes (to support bigger engine in next phase)
Trigger shifter with 8 ball head
Add red seats with white piping (See picture for finished seats)

I'm going for the old skool rat look with the wheels and the paint job. I think they are going to go great! I'm leaving the engine untill i can upgrade to a 1600 from the 1300 which is in it now. I figure why improve an engine i will change when i can?! Please tell me what you think and if you have any tips or ideas. Cheers guys

Do satin,not matt black mate.Looks better personally.
I hate to be picky,but theyre not the correct front indicators for an early 60's beetle.
Get the skinnier ones,they look lots better than those fat bastards
As for the wheels,leave the stock 15's on n paint them.Will save ya money and a potential mistake.
14's just dont look right to me.(ive got them on my squareback and they look shit)
My beetle has 15's,as does 80% of other rats I'd say.
You do watcha wanna do mate,dont do what others say,just take it into consideration.
DO get a 1600 twin port when ya can,its worth it

Right on, thanks for the feedback, do you have any pictures of your 14's? As for the indicators, ill keep an eye out. What I'd really like though is to swap the tail lights for some snowflake ones from the oval windows! Is there anyway i could do that? Conversion kit or something? cheers

Anything can be done mate.Snowflakes will be better
I havent been into vw's long,so i dunno what fits what,but the guys on here know their stuff and can put you right
Some indicators on ebay somewhere,dunno how to post the link,Get them,they look loads better.

Cheers Greedy, do you have any 15" wider wheels? The ones i am looking at are 14" x 7, would love it if they matched. Are 15" s rare?
