Found another one....
FROSTY - November 5th, 2009 at 07:08 PM

Found another one in my brothers back yard, we are going to go halves in the rat project.
His body, 56 standard in unrestored condition. It has had a few bumps and scrapes but is in quite good condition all we did was give it a good clean and a clear coat. The pan came from my 63 with a narrowed disc brake front end, 1300 std gear box with solid mounts. The engine will come out of my 64 (ran at warwick 10.21) this will be the thrash at the track car as I don’t want to gut my beetle every time. We are going to have a run sometime before Christmas so if anyone is heading out to willobank please post a note on the site. I will throw up a couple of pics when it finished.

What pan are you then going to put in your 63???

What is the engine setup going to be??? Iv not seen it ...

KDF-WAGEN - November 5th, 2009 at 08:14 PM

Didn't take long for you to come and grab the oval, shouldn't have left the gate open!

FROSTY - November 5th, 2009 at 08:21 PM

The 63 is going to be sitting on a rack for a while. It was painted Black a couple of years ago and it had some issues with moisture.... ( so it will wait for a repaint). My brother will evenually restore the car but with twns on the way it will be some time away. If we have it together for a couple of years and get sme trips down the track it will be fun.
The engine I ran at warwick, its 1776 std heads with 1:1.25, engle 110 cam, counter weighted crank, lightened flywheel, twin 40 dellorto's, Mallory dist and coil with 1 5/8 merged header.

FROSTY - November 5th, 2009 at 08:29 PM

I would have sqeezed it through half open.....

KDF-WAGEN - November 5th, 2009 at 08:44 PM

Suppose, it will be the same old story, if it's been at your place longer than a day, it's yours, right! Remember, there's a new 36 horse at M&D's we could drop in it.

oldskl60 - November 5th, 2009 at 09:18 PM

Love it Jason!!
You just can't go wrong with that wheel and stance combo on an early bug

So will we be seeing it driving around the GC or will it be trailers only.

FROSTY - November 6th, 2009 at 05:31 PM

Trailer only..... it has a some rust that wouldn't pass roadworthy, but it is safe to use. What's the Pat and Tina? ( never heard of it)

FROSTY - November 17th, 2009 at 02:10 PM

OK, I cant fit the merged exhaust.... and i don't want to cut the rear valance. ( remember the body isn't mine) Fuel pump, ignition switch, door windows and catches and it's ready to go. I want to got TNT 2nd week in December. I think that it should be done this weekend ( The inlaws are coming to stay and its time to hide in the shed)

geevyaratip - November 30th, 2009 at 09:22 PM

Hey Frosty, I reckon you're full of it. Maybe you should spend less time out in the shed and more time with your lovely wife and children.

FROSTY - December 1st, 2009 at 07:24 PM
