NSW adopts a southerner - My new 10/57

Hey guys,

A few of you will be familiar with this car, i gawked and drooled over it for ages, finally I got it all together and managed to nab her from SA and ship her to NSW.

A bit of a leap of faith buying her, I relied on the good word of AVD members about the car and the owner, and the photos from Splitmeister (Andrew) .. I am happy to say, it was worth it, I went and saw the car today, fired up first time and puuuuuured. Its got even more character in person, I couldn't be happier.

Its out with the guys at RAW in Campbelltown now getting ready for rego, should be cruising the roads of Sydney and the South Coast in a week or so.

These pics show her as is.. I am thinking of loosing the hub caps and dress rims, maybe polishing the drums or painting them silver and putting thin stripe white walls on .. This thing is begging for some choice ratty additions. I dont plan on changing much.

(Excuse the blurred backgrounds.. just a cautionary courtesy to the mechanic... not my workshop to be plastering images up all up over the web.)

Hey Ben,

Congrats on the new purchase!! Its a beauty!!

I bought my Notch from Andrew (he lives less than 5 minutes from my place). He's a good guy. Glad you are happy with the beetle mate, I wish I had the money, I would have definitely bought it if I did!) .

HAHA.. Yeah definitely related.. albeit distant cousins :P

Sound system, Haven't decided but it is going to be tricky.. 6 volt and all that. There was a post on Samba about this guy that mods Sony Xplod amps to run on 6volt. Only problem with them was that they probably wont run a normal head unit ... but I would happily just use an iPod touch with a digital jack in the glove box. Thats probably the way I'll go.. Before the sound system I'll accessorize the exterior :P

nice car, i have driven it a few times when andrew had it down here drives pretty well apart form the accellerator sticking sometimes,bet you cant wait to drive it!.

Aaaah!! Jealous, I was hoping it would be ready today, but they dropped the car off for blueslip this afternoon.. All going to plan I'll be able to drive it home tomorrow some time.

Looking forward to seeing Rosie, She looks great in the photos, but they always look so much better in the flesh.

ITS ALIIIIIVE!!

Clutch replaced by RAW (Thanks Adam and Mike) In the past couple months, New bumper Brackets, New seatbelts, New Nankangs (145R fronts and 165R rears), New big logo hub cap repros.. New drivers door handle (lockable) ...

Sitting about for another couple of months didn't do it any favors, but Adam and Mike gave her a tune up after the new clutch went in and after a couple of nice 50km + drives she is really warming up to be a nice daily driver.

P.S. The Cob web is legit.. I had an infestation of red backs in the car... fumigated. .. Only the Web remains.. muahahahaha.

Thanks man,

The sticker.. Adam actually asked me if they could put one on after they did some work on my car, I was more than happy for them to slap it on there. Like Paul said , just ask and they will be stoked to give you one I am sure.
