benben - February 4th, 2011 at 10:01 PM

I was nagged into putting a build up on here, so I will put some photos up for now, and talk later!

This is my 1964 that i picked up today, not sure what will happen with it yet, but the interior and motor are completely screwed and it needs a new left door:

Secondly, 1976, this is my first beetle that has been a project for about 2 years, currently waiting for the roof liner to be installed:

Great to see another 76 and its lookin pretty good. More details on that one would be good.

Great pics

much appreciated....

although no engine shots....

the front blinkers on the 64 Beetle seem to be located in the narrow 1963 blinker holes which makes them too close to the bonnet..... {I see things like that.. lol..]

cheers

are you one those people that pick out faults in movies

benben - February 5th, 2011 at 01:48 PM

cam070, what would you like to know about the '76?

I will get some engine shots up soon, although they haven't been modified at all!
Isn't that where the indicators should be on this year model?
We will probably be keeping the paint the same, new interior, mags and a 1600 for the 1965 :)

No worries lowace :)

These are the front seats that we pulled out of the 65, worst condition we have ever seen:

haha yea mate, they are pretty shit.

We decided to take the old 65 for a spin around the bloke, on the way back the already rattly engine makes a massive clunk and she is dead. Blew a hole in the side of the case. Off to get another engine today!

Too close to the body

They are either gaurds off an earlier model or it had skinny light originally and been fitted with the later ones.

64 was the change over year but usually the skinny ones were on cars that had the narrow popes nose and the wolfsburg crest on the hood.

I was just wondering what you had done to it and what you were planning to do with it.

benben - February 14th, 2011 at 03:54 PM

bought it off a farmer who passed away, he used to to get around his farm to feed his sheep.
replaced all the suspension, fixed up the original engine, full bare metal respray,
i am currently waiting for someone to install a roof liner for me, then i will fix up the rest of the interior and get it on road, then sell it on :)

So far, this has cost me $1800!
Not much has happened, put on some mags, and a mesh visor.
Also took off the bumpers and will be buying T-bars.
We're also trying to find a 1600!
Sorry about the shitty photos, taken on phone:
