picked this up today thanks to a mate of mine. i call him 'saint'.
any way this is the b4's and after one arvo of tinkering...
he is a '72... sat under a tree for a few years after the girl broke a throtle cable. my mate saint was telling me about it over a quiet one at nambucca. so off we went. thats saint in the pic.
underneath...
first up check the floor, so out came the interior...
Good score brother.
meanwhile saints better half gave the outside a wash.
a lil wash and such a difference... mean while saint was getting a battery and a tin of fuel. three turns, a little petrol in the carbs, and off he went...
oh and that broken cable.... FIXED.
now all i need is to tap into the minds of you notch fans ( yeas i know it is not pre '69, but who could pass this up). i will have questions under the project neville heading. please pass on anything you can... thanks.
good score twoguns. yeah!!!
Nice score, and check those wheels
Awesome!
Who cares if its not Pre 69......

I feel that the Type3 Bug has claimed another victim!
A lowered notch will always do it for me more than stocko height. Not necessarily slammed, but just bring it down a few inches for a start. You could always go the "French look" for something different. Keep the green paint and put some funky/lairy graphics down the middle of the car. There was a bright orange notch with silver graphics I remember in one of the mags a while back, that was shweet.
Nice.. Welcome to Club Notch.
I have wanted that car for many many many years. The owner who I can't remember just wouldn't part with it. I havn't seen it around for
a few years & looking at the state in which u found it I now know why. I hope u give it a good home & cherish it as I would have.
regards
Jak
PS I think those wheels are rare Italian made wheels They would look excellent polished. I know a polisher at Kanwal that does excellent work for half
the price of Sydney polishers
that is a nice score.
i agree with dasdubber about lowering it a bit. add some swaybars and good shocks and up the power a bit.... mmmmmm
the wheels are Ronal wheels made in germany. i don't think that there are more than a few sets in australia. that makes the car an even better
score.
Good score.
Slam it and accesorise it. That's the shot.:thumb
nice score very kool looking paint seems to be in good nick too :thumb :thumb
Top score twoguns:thumb I'm also on the look for a cheap t3 for a project car. Hope I can find something as good as your score
Hey "Glen"
Let me know what your after...
Excellent score, 2guns!!! :thumb:thumb:thumb
The wheels are probably every bit as desirable as the car. I notice you already have a rear sway bar fitted too. :thumb The wash certainly made a huge
difference.
Ps. your mate Saint looks almost identical to my uncle!! I really had to look hard. :o
very nice pickup. well done
Top Score man
How could they have just parked it and left it under a tree?
Some PPL are sick puppys!
Rob....
hey thanks for the comments... i was stocked when i came across it. even more when got him home and washed him up. yesterday the wheels came off.
sent the brake bits away to get sorted. again thanks to saint... the type three is in great cond. a few dints and a little tiny bit of rust.
can't wait to take hime for a spint soon...
nice score!
Is this the one your talking bout?
SWEET nice score

(sorry to kinda hijack thread)
cheers
adz
hey jakriz... the guy i bought it of. had the notch for about 4 yrs. he bought it of the undertaker who sold it when he realised he was moving... it
was sold all fixed up but in pieces. fred put it together for his daughter who drove it a while. but when the throttle cable broke it was pushed aside
where it sat for two years...
if anyone is interested there is also a mark1 golf sitting there which also belonged to the daughter. FREE to a good home i think i you ask him... if
anyone is interested let me know.
youve lost me adam c... which one are you refering to.
The last I saw it , it was in very very good nick, & Peter Korsche had just sold him those wheels, thats going back some years.

Jak
PS put a rexxy motor in it & leave it looking stock!
keeps getting better.... went to show the better half the new arrival. (again she was away at the moment temptation struck). any way was doing a
little tidying and checking what needs replacing.... all the electricals worked and all the lights and switches worked. a little fiddle with the
n/plate light got it to shine but then i blew the bulb. but to say the least all is going great.
the only one hick is one of the front discs calipers (funny thing it has been replaced as it has 'vwpc' written on it.) wont let go of one
of the bleeder valves... everything else on neville has been perfect. go figure huh.
are front disc calipers replacable??? ie can i get new ones.
