Yeah it's the one from the UK built by Simon Fox. Importing is easy, just need an import permit for the car and in QLD just have to get modern
compliant seat belts fitted. Plus its gotta pass roadworthy of course. Pretty straight forward. Most stressful is hoping it arrives with no damage
while in transit.

Thanks! Yeah pretty stoked that's for sure. Can't wait to go cruising in it. Will do my best to get it around to a few shows. Will be at any QLD

The '62 I had as my desk top image a few years ago when I decided I wanted to get a Squareback again. I thought it was the coolest Type 3 I had ever
seen. Then whilst searching around for cars for sale, I found the exact car for sale in the UK at a classic car dealer. Couldn't believe it. I had to
make it mine.
The '69 Panel I had been watching for a while on a US VW site for a long time & had to made it happen.
The '63 happened because I had a chance to get the famous Squareblack from the UK but had to let it go. Then heard that Foxy's Squareback was going
to be on the market soon. Tracked Simon down directly & hit him up. At that point it was already sold so I bought the Panel instead. Then after I
had done the deal on the Panel, Simon got back in touch & said the deal didn't work out. It was too good a chance to pass up so made it
happen.
So in short... just searching the net for cars for sale all the time & they will pop up eventually. No real websites as such just general
searches.

I can only drive at a time, so will only be the one car I am sorry to say. Most likely the panel van. The '63 at this point in time will not be taken
on longer trips like that. See what happens though? Either way, at least one of them will at Valla. Looking forward to it !!

Funny enough you say that as I actually did have it invoiced to me late last year. Had the deal done with a classic car dealer in the UK for it but I
backed out in the last minute due to financial concerns with the economy here. Think I have more than made up for it now though. haha.
telf - February 16th, 2012 at 01:58 PM
You Bugger. You'll be able to open a T3D show room soon. 1 lucky show room. Nice job.
robb - February 16th, 2012 at 06:30 PM
do you have someone on the ground there to look over the cars or do you go on their reputation

Just go on their reputation & do as much homework as I can. I did however happen to be in the USA for other business & had the chance to
inspect the panel van. A little risky but so far, so good.
robb - February 16th, 2012 at 09:53 PM
thanks for that keep up the good work

Not just taking it, he bringing it back home. Page 15 has a brief article on the purchase of it by Clint as issue was just being touched up. Full
article is on page 50 of latest volksworld and it explains how it was originally from OZ.
Quality resto. Well done on purchase.
