As per the above, I am showing a couple of my previous rides that I do regret either selling or parting out.
The 1970 microbus was our first kombi and the family car for the wife and I and our 2 boys (toddlers at that time)
We managed to do a reasonable resto on it in 6 months, which was helped greatly by our neighbour being the panel beater. The whole resto pulled up
around $10,000, but then try getting a good 2 pac paint job for $2500 plus materials these days
The first time I drove a kombi was to drive this out of my driveway and off for a roadworthy. My parents were horrified at the time ... then they came for a ride in it and couldn't believe what a great car it was
to ride in.
We took it to the VW Action Day 2001 and came away with Best kombi up to 1979 ... didn't expect that one.
We sold it while trying to save for a house
deposit.
The other one is a little 66 beetle that I owned
It went off the road for a tidy up and now there is nothing left of it, except a guy in Warwick bought the body off me. The 54 is its replacement.
I resized the photos on photobucket (before posting) so apologies if you have the ridiculously large pics come up like I have.
Anyhow the last pic is my favourite
My 2 boys in front of the 70 microbus
Good stuff, do like the 66.
hows the ute going?
The ute is going like fantastically!!
I am looking forward to putting some NOS 45 Dellortos on it. I just got the venturis and jets I needed in the mail today.
