Love the pic. Can't wait for more.
You'll have to drop over one day and meet 'Andy'
:thumb

Salahahdin - August 24th, 2003 at 10:16 AM

Hey Andy HOW YOU DOIN' :P

Poor me just can't seem to get his 1800 running right. I have narrowed it down to the accelerator pump linkages. The finest adjustment makes a world of difference. So now I am fine tuning those, But apart from that He sure is running alot better since I first aquired Him.

And YEAH I'd love to come over and meet ANDY.

Got loads of Pics coming, The Pastell-White 2-Pac roof the waist job looks so damn good, I love it.

Just waiting for pics to be transfered from camera (not mine) to my comp.

They'll be here in next few days. CANT WAIT

Boy, I never thought that this Resto work could ever be this enjoyable. I never in my life thought I would enjoy this sort of thing.

I never thought a V.W. of all marques could sink it's claws in get me hooked.

Her is the Passenger door with it's new window seals and bailey channels. Not a spot of rust in it (Phew). :P

Salahahdin - August 27th, 2003 at 05:27 PM

Yes I do get up at night and make sure he is ok. Specially when it rains I go downstairs and make sure he stays dry, haha. :P

Robo - August 27th, 2003 at 05:35 PM

Going to Action Day?????

Salahahdin - August 27th, 2003 at 08:39 PM

Yeah I wouldn't miss it for the world.

I just hope your not asking if 'Kevin' is going to be there too. 'Cause He ain't. He is still about 4wks away from roadgoing capabilities.

But then again from what the local Police told me all he needs is a Windscreen back in him and he's Roadworthy ;)

Haha, just hope it don't rain!!

byronbus - August 27th, 2003 at 08:50 PM

nice, coming together very well:thumb
where did you get the portable carport?

Salahahdin - August 28th, 2003 at 06:31 AM

I got the portable carport from Supacheap Auto. 6mx3m.

$199 reduced to $149 (so I snapped on up) as they were $149 for a short period only. Then they went back up to $199 then for one day only they were $99.

Here on the Sunshine Coast we get some strong winds and I was worried about rain getting in the sides but so far no rain has made it any higher than the wheel arches.

Robo - August 29th, 2003 at 06:11 AM

Salahahdin - August 29th, 2003 at 04:23 PM

Hey guys (and girls)]

Can I post sound files on here 'cuase I digitally recorded 'Kevin's' Original muffler and then when I put the extractors on I recorded it too.

Just thought I'd be cool so others could get a sample of what Extractors sound like. Well mild ones at least. Might save a few people sleepness nights wondering, (hmmmm, extractors or girlfriend, mmmmmm, extractors or girlfriend) I DID :P

Robo - August 29th, 2003 at 04:52 PM

I'd take extractors every time! :D
I hope my wife dosen't read this!( I love you darling
Rob....

Salahahdin - August 29th, 2003 at 05:42 PM

When I bought 'Kevin' his dash was all cracked and wiring was hanging out everywhere, I mean everywhere. Previous owners had piggybacked onto anything to get power. Well this doesn't look so crash hot now but if I only had the original setup to show as comparison.

Salahahdin - September 2nd, 2003 at 09:35 AM

Here is his newly rebuild Carbies, RH shown. I also wish I had original setup to compare with (won't be a prob from now on as I bought a Digital camera of my own)

Take note of the shiny newly rebuild Main Throttle body, Had the main butterflies rebushed by a pro. Best $66 I ever invested into those carbies. :thumb

Andy - September 2nd, 2003 at 02:38 PM

I hope the power lead to the choke is connected since the photo :o
