Hey All,
Thought it best to say hello to all on AVD.
I'm mostly found on DSK where I have been a member for a few years and have tried to join in where I can as I am still learning as I go.
Anyways, this is our ride, nearly finished now, been a long old process but it should be worth the effort once it's done.
It's a May 55 single cab, mostly in OG paint, it has been brush painted in parts and the rust repairs that I've had done have been painted to try
and make it look old.
It has an IRS backend with a dual ignition Pobjoy motor, uprated steering and brakes up front, now has 12V with fuel gauge, temp and oil pressure
gauges.
OG bench seat and factory safaris.. plan is to get it on the road asap and sort any niggles and then tinker a little with ride height etc ..
I have lots of people to thank for their time, patience and help with this project, without a good set of mates I would not have got this far so thank
you's to
Dion, Flipflop, John, Frog, Rick & Stef, Tim for the panel work ,my mate Steve who has spent so many hours on this, even during the middle of
summer in a stinking hot shed, led underneath it painting the POR 15 with me !!

Rick,
You know better than most...they are never finished !
Do you have to brake Fred Flinstone style still?
Nope, all working with a centre brake light and it stops good !
Watch this space kiddywinks....the 17th is the goal...
Brakes are a bonus
What else to do mate?
On fire dude!
There's nothing stopping you now... Well, except for those Brakes!
Brakes are for stopping a good thing.....hurry up!!!!!
Well todays was the day.
Been a little quiet as I've been a busy boy getting this old yoot ready for the road.
Really wanted in done for the run up here on the 17th so we went full on at it over the last couple of weekends when we have had some spare time.
The Yoot is now on the road and done, all legal and done !
Got the plates on it today, all tested and passed.
So here she is, sat on the road, legally for the 1st time in many many years I'm guessing.
Interesting as today when I took it to Qld transport they told me the records of registered kombi's in Qld only go to 56 so maybe mine is the oldest
on the road in Qld ?? I'd be interested if anyone knows of an older kombi...
Anyway, all I can say after nearly 18 months of getting it ready, it is worth it, the drive away from Qld Transport today with plates was fantastic !
I'm like a kid at Christmas !
As always i'll end with thank you's !
Without these people this old Yoot would not have made the road.
Steve M, Johno ( who even came over today to ride shotgun ..just in case ) Rick & Stef, Mike & Jen, Flip flop, Tim @ J's custom and by no
means last Dion, what a star, many many times I've rang this bloke for advise and help and every time, he helps, above and beyond mate. I owe you
some beers !
