Cold and windy outside so I lowered the bus from inside today.
Man I saw that on your avatar and thought you had done it for real! is it in the pipeline?
Rob.....
Looks good:thumb
yeeeha.!!! go helbus
I would like to go 6 inches with adjusters etc, but cost is prohibitive at the moment. It is $880 for the kit, and if I do it I know I will find heaps of other stuff that needs doing in the near future and I can see it blowing out to $1500 with bearings or tie rods or whatever I find that is still servicable, but should be replaced while the beam is out. :o
might have a bita trouble steering hey!
I have a saying.. It could always be lower..
It looks the ducks nuts Pete..
SUUWEEET :thumb
Now if i couldonly get the mrs to let me do that to hers !!!!!
:thumb:thumb:thumbsweet, 880 is that fitted?
$880 for c/o front beam and rear spring plates supplied only.
how low probably relates to exactly what you use the vehicle for, when we put the bull bar on to go on our trip we found that the lower front ground
clearance stuffed our approach angle on a lot of driveways & dips etc, because there is quite a lot of over hang, I I were you I would reduce the
front clearance artificially
(coupla peices of aluminium strip at the front etc) and see what you hit, otherwise you may be in trouble with the missus, the styling of your vehicle
visually lowers it anyway
mines gettign done now :thumb:thumb i get it back on saturday im going down 3.5 inches
thats adjustable front beam and adjusted spring plate.
its being done by indian automotive.
I fitted my front beam myself & adjusted the torsion bars in the rear, needs beetle gas shocks in the front, otherwise she turns and rides very well, you could try that and get the spring plates later, $440 I think that cost me
Looks wicked!!! No question, you guys should go for it.
Was cool to meet you two at the party on the weekend :thumb
see ya,
Cam
Whats the idea with the different spring plates??? Can you simply adjust the indexing on the torsion bars?
Im looking at this at the moment too. I have a spare front end to reco then swap onto my bus to reduce downtime. I was goint to drop the rear a bit
by moving the splines a bit.
Why beetle gas shocks???
Why not the boge originals?
kkk
I got my front end from Indian Auto and had it fitted by my mechanic 250 +500 fitting. Then I had Indian fit the adjustable rears 650 plus I bought a set of tensioners or some thing they are called to fit on the inside of the front torsion bars to stop it bottoming out . 330, I ma scared t add it all up. But when I get around to doing (or more likely getting done) the tensioners I will be able to really live up to the LOBUS plate! I think I am still going to have a problem gettin the rear wheels off though. I'll have to deal with that if it happens.
Hey cookie, you bringing the LOBUS saty night?

I got a rubber kit and I am willing, but so many projects on the go with other peples cars. Even a 67 somthing Plymouth Fury.
hell bus, i think the Q is not "how low should the bus go" but "how low can the bus go"
Whatnow, I agree, Lower, lower, lower!
You can never go low enough!
