Rob.....
wow nice 411. i have to say i would be happy to find that in my garage (finding out i had a garage would be nice too )
wow that yellow splitty... someone should have layed off the acid.... nasty.
Yeah the yellow one is a bit far out, but it was a mobile control tower for the RAAF! so I spose it should look like that.
Rob.....
na its a double door panel van (windows cut in) that has to little sunroofs either side of the fresh air unit up front and it has seat mounts in the
rear (no panelvans had them from the factory) there was only 10 ever build!

Steven
were the mags fitted to it or have you got the stock wheels ?
Did anyone else by chance see the 411 parked across the road from the RNS Hospital on the Pacific Hwy this morning at St Leonards? White with 14 inch
rims with Porche hubcaps with Wolfsburg emblem. Looked like SA rego on it.
Squiz....

the only shitty thing about is it is that the gearbox needs rebuilding BUT it has a type 3 gearbox in it u should see a type 411 gearbox!!!!

rhys

411s are Rare in Australia ... They were never sold here but they were sold in Papua New Guinea and New Zealand and the UK & South Africa (all
RHD)..
I would love to own one... although My favorite is the 412 with 4 doors...
Ever since I saw one in Newcastle in the late 60's, I've always wanted an air cooled VW with 4 doors.... I love 'em...
It looks as though they are becoming "semi rare" !!!!! Lee
That Yellow ex RAAF Kombi is interesting.
I see that its approx 65 model made in Australia as the air vents to the engine are mounted up near the roofline, to stop dust entering the air
cleaner, whereas the German Vents were down much lower.... down in the aussie dust !!:o
Did You know that when You take a photo of an Alien, their face always go fuzzy, just like this one has... an Alien for sure..
:alien More Aliens... they are everywhere
but mostly in Sydney..!!
Iv seen one of those spoters (the two sun roof one not the control tower one) in coolaroo, in melbourne...
double doors and the like...:o
hey this one was imported from papua new guinea in 75 and been here ever since i would like to own a 412 wagon
cheers
rhys
If you ever need any spare parts we have a 411 stationwagon that we are wrecking. We were gunna fix it up but then dad found a better condition 412 so we bought that. Now we are restoring the 412.
Any chance of some pics of the 412??
I love 'em....
