Slammed 58 Rat Bug - Returning to Australia

Heres some pics of my new 1958 Australian Bug!
I went back to the UK for a couple weeks and the first day back i saw and bought this Bug, shipping back to Australia is imminent!
It was exported from Australia in 2007 after living in a field in the ACT for 22 years!
Its all original, Australian only colours, Gulf Green with red oxide primer and has been triple clear coated
Its riding a heady 1.5 inches of the tarmac, and already i have beached it on a speed bump!
Oh, and it was Volksworld featured in August 2011.

They are 145/65 Bridgestones.....Smart car tyres.

Its heading to Brisbane, Shouldnt have too many dramas with it, its all original, except for the height, and maybe a little narrower up front
Ive gone through the pain of bringing a left hand drive Kombi to South Australia before, it cannot be anymore painful than that!!!

Wow awsome car man. How did you clear coat it? I too have a 58 rat bug and I was going to Ankor wax it, but now that I have seen this I would love to
clear coat it.

Yeah it is, Im in Brisbane (Ashgrove)
We shipped our Kombi over (61 11 Window), landed in SA, travelled for 7 months along the south and east coast and ended up back in Brisbane (we ran
out of money and needed jobs
)
Settled now, and time to build my collection again
Had to sell a 72 GT Beetle and a 67 kombi lowlight (second ever RHD made) when we came over, I WAS GUTTED!!

Im not quite sure how it was done, it doesnt say in the magazine article either, i will endeavour to find out from the previous owner, it does look
sweet though with shiny patina!!

the Bug is still in the UK and has been since 2007 but will hopefully be back here (Brisbane) in 8 weeks!!! My Facebook is 'Jon Selkirk' - You will
