If you're stuck anywhere from Drouin to Sale to Leongatha, give me a call, I may be able to get out to you. Alternatively, drop in for a coffee
or bring your car over for a working bee. I've got basic tools, wheelramps, axle-stands (thanks Jen), power tools, welder, etc. and I'm happy to help out. I can offer a bed if you're stuck or just
passing through.
I'm 20 minutes South of Morwell, in Yinnar South. My phone numbers are (03) 5169 1722 or 0417 526 306.
I'm in Cheltenham. So if you are stuck anywhere from Keyborough to Mordialloc to Hampton I can help out. Have tools and a bit of knowledge on VW
things. Or just lob around for a cuppa and a chat

If anyone wants trimming or trim repairs done, give me a call. I am not a trimmer by profession but know what I'm doing and just love bringing anything aircooled back to life. I'm void of any talent for things mechanical or things that involve a welder or spray gun, so maybe we could work something out if that suits. I live in East Brighton. 0419 356105

Excellent timing!
I have just bought a Kombi and was considering posting a request for help here!
At the moment I’m still at the stage of cleaning about 20 years of dirt of it.
I bought two upholstery books yesterday and have started to read them
Unfortunately I’m a complete chimp when it comes to everything mechanical and I do mean EVERYTHING (The idea of the kombi is to learn and do it
myself as opposed to paying someone to do it for me).
However I do know a lot about computers so if you need help with that I’m more than happy to help.
I will be sure to drop you a line soon.
BTW do you know where I can get hold of supplies like vinyl?
Perfect! Call anytime. Vinyl? Too easy. What year is the Kombi?
Thanks,
you can have a look at the kombi in the buying and selling section under "One owner 73/4 Microbus for sale"

Hi All. I need one of those gadgets which the driver's sun visor clips into. It holds the free end in place, over the internal rear view
mirror.
Anyone know where I can obtain one?
Please don't send me to the wreckers...someone else has been there before me, and taken all of them! Type 2, 1976 Dormobile. Thanks.
Hi Paul,
give Michael at Volkscare a call,he might have one laying around.Ph 9729 9281.He's just up the road from you at 12/4 Maquarie place ,Boronia.
Thankyou. I'll call in Friday arvo. Cheers.
I bought the last one he had in stock, $5. But it's as hard as nails, nothing like the softer, flexible material of the original, and too small a
slot. Had to open it out with a file, a tedious job which took too long. Finally gave up on the file and opened out the slot by pushing it against a
drill bit in the drill press, using the sides (flutes) of the drill to mill the slot out wider. Still dicey, have to put my thumb against the
fibreglass rod in the sun visor to push it into the slot, otherwise it would break the rod. But it's nice to have the visor clipped into place
where it should be.
I'll bet this gadget wasn't made in Europe or Brazil. The no-name packet also contained a countersunk p.k. screw, which is just not
suitable. What a fiddly little job that was! I'm glad it's over.
