Starting to do up 71 Superbug - require good mechanic names in SA for complete motor overhaul including wiring.
Then paint work and trim.
Hi You might want to be a lot more specific...
What condition is the car in, how much do you need done// to what standard and how big is your budget...
Welsome and good luck.
PS if you have a budget in mind remember things always blow over budget
Beetle - 1600 motor with bore kit, runs OK but on last service one cylinder is causing problems, new exhaust required, currently has one pipe change
back to two.
Original engine in beetle (1971 model) has done nearly 100,000 miles. Wiring touchy - lights can go on and off just going over a bump or touching
light knob. Paint work - body in good condition with surface rust only. Looking at getting it running mechanically A! first then paint work down the
track.
Siggi and Steve at GHR Motors on Daws Rd are good people - you could do a lot worse than drop in there.
Yep, GHR Motors are very good, as are the blokes at Volksfactory in Holden Hill. I've never been to any of the others.

I don't know about that Lee. I've found that most VW shops in Adelaide get their wiring done for them by a mobile auto electrician. GHR certainly
do, as Steve recommended me the mobile guy who they use. I found that his work was good and rates were reasonable, although he didn't seem to have
any particular knowledge. Volksfactory also refused to do problem-solving type work on wiring when I asked, as they said that they normally get it
done by and auto sparky.
In my experience, auto electricians can work on any type of car equally well without experience as they tend to work backwards from first principles.
They never consult a wiring diagram and rarely assume something based on prior knowledge. This may sound time consuming, but it's how they're
trained to work and I've never been unhappy with the quality or price of the job. I've gotten some work done at Razz's Auto Electrical on South
Road a few times and been happy.
If you are still looking for someone to rewire your beetle, i took mine to A & T on grange road. The guy has had mine for three days and is keeping everything simple and cheap.
?????- I thing the wrong muscle is being worked on.
I think sometimes people make stuff up just so they can post?
Wiring is wiring, it's not specific to VW? Any auto electrician will be able to sort your problems out.
Also if you need an engine rebuild, interior and paint and bodywork it might be cheaper to buy a beetle that has had all this done already, otherwise
you could be looking at figures over $10k
