None for me either :(

Do you have Javascript turned on? I will be de-JavaScripting them over the next few days, but for now, you must have JavaScript to view the full size images.

The previews should be available to any browser.

Vanderaj? Is it possible they are experiencing what you said would be happening with attachments over 3months old?
See following http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=16341

As I have experienced same but it appears only on old posts........:(

KOM123 - December 5th, 2003 at 04:35 PM

Not just old posts, even ones form this week :(

kombikim - December 5th, 2003 at 05:10 PM

I cant find all the ones I was going to save today either:cry

vanderaj - December 5th, 2003 at 05:13 PM

I haven't actually deleted any yet - the query to find the images never returned, so after 20 minutes, I killed it.

Maybe it's the way the new code interprets the old attachments.

Can you see new attachments (ie the new ones in the attachments thread?)

Hi Vanderaj,
I'm going to try to attach to this an image from my local m/c ( "C:\etc. etc. etc.\supercharge.jpg" ) which is 18 KB in size.

Here goes.

modulus - December 5th, 2003 at 05:27 PM

As can (can't) be seen, the image is not visible (at least to me)(. When I try to edit this post, I can "Edit Image" and the image name and size are there, correctly. Just can't see the image.

I don't see your post either.

Which version of the browser are you using? Do you use any form of Internet security software, such as Norton Internet Firewall?

Hi,
Mozilla 1.3 (a NS 7 clone)

*No* I'net security software, no firewalls, nada, Javascript is on.

I'll switch to Opera and Netscape to see if those make a difference.

My wild guess is permissions for common folk like me may not be up to the task (when you test, you have admin. level permissions, yes?).

Just checked with Opera 7.03 and Netscape 6.2 (Windows 9X), no difference, i.e. I can see your kitten photo, but of my supercharge photo, not a sign.

BTW,
this is all w.r.t. new posts, note that (some) old posts with attachments are not showing their attachments, for - presumably - related reasons.

Example of latter problem on page 2 of " Oval... begging to be blown ".

Okay, the old attachments are not being rendered by the code. They're still in the database.

I will try and get them to be in the file system like the others, but failing that, fix the bug with the old render code.

Anrew,
I'm online for the new hour, let me know if you need any tests run.

I've got to zoom now - I'm late for a film.

I'll have to check this when I get to my hotel in Sydney tomorrow night.

Sorry [non-IE 6.0 / non-PC] folks for the hassle.

Andrew

ps. If you have Internet Explorer, it seems to work just fine. :-/

I'd fix that :) Kerio Personal Firewall or Norton Internet Security both do a good job.

Attachments have no permission differences between users of any type. The problem here is:

* New images can't be posted from: Mac/NS/Mozilla/Opera. They don't work like IE does when posting multiple files for some reason. Workaround: Use IE if you can until I fix this.

* pre-Ultimate Attachment Hack images (ie 99.99% of all of them) are not being displayed at all. I have no idea why. Maybe I missed a step or two of the UAH. I don't think so. Workaround: none. I can't back the change out from here.
