engine transplants....
jungles - August 14th, 2004 at 02:44 PM

Hi all, a few veedubbers i have talked to so far are against any engine transplants in beetles, but if i was to consider doing this would a subaru wrx 2L turbo engine in the beetle be good? also would it be very costly to do? I have sourced some half cuts and the average is about $2200.

Man, if you had a 2L rex engine in your dub, i would imagine that the cost would be well worth it.

like you wouldnt believe id cruise between taree and sydney at 110km and the hills wouldnt trouble me and i would use only a little more fuel than a stock engine

Beware the legalities of Australian Design Rules and so forth. Might be fun, though you'd lose the tappety dak-dak engine sound, which I personally adore.

1800 is the max with out an engineers. but it still sounds like a bug with a 2L t4 motor in it
