mains electric inlet socket
neil - February 23rd, 2005 at 10:51 PM

Hi everyone
I've recently prurchased a 1973 VW Kombi from Australia. I live in Scotland and I'm haveing difficulty finding a suitable mains inlet socket. I don't want to cut the bus to fit the great big effort that are fitted to caravans. The one that came with the bus is fitted high up on the rear left quarter just above the air inlet vent. The socket measures 8cm form top to bottom and is 7cm wide. The cover on the original was broken off hence the reason to replace. Can anyone point me in the right direction so that I can have one shipped from Oz. Chin Chin Neilly.

We have Clipsal - HPM - Austec & RingGrip -
electrical items made in Australia...

The item You are looking for is probably very easy to find in Australia---

Our power points and plugs are different to the UKs but Neil is going to use an adaptor....

Was that the Kombi for sale in the ULTRA VW Magazine???

If anyone can help Neil with a Power inlet for His Kombi....
He sent Me a pic of the item...
but its very large.... it doesn't have a brand on it...
it was probably on the cover that broke off....
I am in the country and don't have access to Caravan shops..
I'm sure every caravan shop in Australia sells these items...
Unless there is a New larger model???
Anyone who can help, I can send You the photo of the unit..
