G'day Everyone
Berlina - April 19th, 2005 at 10:01 PM

Gday,

My name is Derek, This is the first (& only) VW forum I have joined.

A little about me, sorry guys but I have always owned holdens & currently drive two Commodores (VT Berlina Wagon & VS Berlina Sedan), I have never even been in a VW.......

BUT, recently I have been looking at the classic old Split Window Kombi's, & I like what I see. My wife as agreed to me buying one & re-building it. I will be the first to admit I know nothing about VeeDubs, but everyone has to learn somewhere.

I own a spare parts shop in Nowra NSW, so hopefully some contacts I have through that can help out with parts etc. Thats the ones I cant buy through this forum or e-bay.

I do understand this WILL be a long process, but hey, a journey starts will a single step.

Cheers
Berlina

Hey man, welcome. I just joined this forum a couple weeks ago. its pretty cool.

I knew nothing of vw's, but i was interesting in building a buggy. And now, because i posted up lots of questions etc. and searched articles on the internet, I pretty much understand a heep!!!

Just do your research, and have commitment and you will learn alot. The vw beetles are so much mechanically easier to understand than anyother car I know of. So its all cool.

Welcome mate.

Welcome!

...You've done it now - theres no going back...

I looked everywhere for pics of my Brothers '65 Camper - funny how you don't take pics of cars that you see almost every day!

I did find a few though:

Drivers side: At the Byron Bay show last year - sorry 'bout the strange greenish tint in the pic - my wife was playing with the settings of the camera as part of her photography course and I didn't realise that they weren't set to 'normal' :duh

pic 2: At the Gold Coast Show last year - one of the trohpy winners...

ratty 63 - May 14th, 2005 at 10:45 PM

...and finally pic 3: The first van in this pic is a '57, then my Bro's '65 followed by another '57 - Taken on the way to Nambucca.

Hope this helps!

R :)
