Just trying to post a pic

Can anyone tell me how to make my photo less than 50kb.
All my photos are minimum 250kb?

make sure its under 50kb

change its file type to a jpeg ?

or open it in a editing programe (paintshop) and actually shrink its size then re save it as a jpeg
