shaihulud - November 6th, 2005 at 12:23 PM

Why is the forum in German? I can't understand it. What can I do to get an English version?

blutopless2 - November 6th, 2005 at 12:33 PM

go to user control panel and look at the options menu... you can choose the language that is displayed there...

Thank you blutopless2. Where is the user control panel?

barls - November 6th, 2005 at 05:40 PM

top right corner mate

shaihulud - November 6th, 2005 at 08:11 PM

This is getting silly.
1 I am a complete idiot on a computer
2 It's in GERMAN for crying out loud. I don't understand German.
3 There is NO icon in the top right corner that takes me to a control panel of any sort, either left or right click.

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME MEANINGFUL HELP HERE.

twoguns - November 6th, 2005 at 08:13 PM

in the top right of hte screen, it should say that you are logged in and will have your user name up there.
underneath there is 3 items in brackets. the right one is 'user cp' your control panel.
once you are in your cp, you go to the second option on the left. this is edit options. in there you have the choice of language. second from the top.

hope this helps ya.

Hmmm...

Once you set your language to German you're stuck; as I am now. Instead of userCP you click on "Einstellungen / Optionen" in the top right but it *does not* give you the option to switch languages back to English, i.e. you're stuck in German as I am now until some kind administrator rescues me. ... iunto the bargain, it seems that only those options for which translations exist are available on the menus, so you get half a forum in German...

ADMINS,

H H H E E E L L L P P P ! ! !

Can a kind administrator set my language back to English - the original poster is likely to need the same help. Now, do I press the "Eintrag bearbeiten" button?

Welcome to the forum by the way..:P

Fixed.

For future reference, the posts above indicating where to change it are entirely accurate.

UserCP
Edit Options
Change second item to English

Hi Andrew,
I must be missing something, because, since I'm stuck in German:
1. The option is not, of course, userCP but rather "Einstellungen / Optionen " and
2. "Einstellungen / Optionen " doesn't include the option to switch your language back.

Consequentl;y I'm still stuck in German with only half the forum options accessible.

TIA

i can translate it all for you if it stuffs up again

3 cents per letter was the going rate 10 yrs ago when i did work for a Frankfurt Publisher.

yepp 3cent for letter a so for "Fahrvergnuegen" I would have gotten 14 letters x3 c = 42 cents.......
not so easy when u have ta make it flow, accurate , spellit rite, punctuate it, make the grammar ok and get the facts right like PS to B HP (brake horsepower, te hee.

Wow, I've got to lay off the pineapple juice. I swear WABaja is speaking some wicked words that I don't understand.

Talented Man........How do you do that Dan?

Very Cool:cool:

shaihulud - November 19th, 2005 at 09:17 PM

I know that capital letters in a forum is the equivalent of shouting. Please accept my apologies for my bad manners in my first post. I won't do it again.
