G'day to all,

After a 5 year absence of driving a kombi-sold the last one to go o/s- I will regain one again. It is being stripped back completely and is undergoing some major rust cutting/proofing and a respray to follow. After that the interior will be done, including a decent sound system-which has also been lacking these last few years(blame the mortgage!!!). Needless to say I can't wait until she's ready-about 3 weeks away-I hope to post a few photos.
Don't worry about the name chopper-I'm not related to him, it's just a translation of my dutch surname. Hope to catch up with you all at the next VW meeting somewhere around the country.

I'm also new to the site. I'm a Gold Coaster as well. Haven't had a Kombi before but looking for a bay bus. have had a couple of beetles.

i'm heading to the Gold Coast show at Coomera Nov 5.

Hope to see some nice Buses there.

Thanks for all the replies;yes, I know about the Gold Coast VW day on the 5th of November-unfortunately I had already committed myself to jumping out of an aeroplane on that day in Tyalgum along with another 10 idiots. My wife has already laid claim on the-thus far-unfinished Kombi in case the parachute doesn't open!!! No doubt I'll catch up with everyone at another VW dig. Regards,
