Hi all, as you can probably guess by my sig I'm the proud owner of a '77 dual cab kombi. He's (Fritz) in great condition with original paint etc. only 2 previous owners, having been bought brand new in Sydney and driven straight back to Canberra where he's been ever since. He's been my work ute and daily driver for the last 3 years, driven up and down the east coast a few times and hasn't missed a beat up until a few weeks ago (broken bearing in the gearbox).
I've recently retired him from daily duties, a hard decision, but one i'm hoping will allow me some time to do a few mods that I've been meaning to do for a long time and keep him in great condition. One of the things I miss most is turning up to peoples houses to do work and hearing all the different stories they have about dubs they've owned.
He's my first vw although i've long been an admirer of them, kombis and type 3s being my favourites, rat look ones in particular. I'm also a huge fan of rotaries, yeah I know, and hillclimb a little rotary powered Mazda 808 wagon when I get the chance.
