Hello,
Great forum to read and look at other peoples setups and rides. I've been a Veedub enthusiast for while and i am currently getting back into
finishing of my project which has been on and of the shelf for 12 years. Just a little bit of interior and engine tuning to do and I can drive it
again Yeh.
Hey superflow 1! Welcome!
I am also from SA and glad to hear of yet another enthusiast around the place.
I haven't been a member on here long either, but have been made to feel really welcome, so I am sure you will be too.
One thing I have noticed though....everyone on here enjoys pictures....so get uploading some of your ride so I know what to look for when I'm out and
about.
Thanks Scarab for the welcome.
Haven,t learnt yet how to up load pictures but will give it a go soon. My Vw is a 1964 beetle thats been modified quite a bit. Body wise its bright
yellow with shaved gutters , front steel guards widened 2" rest of the body mostly smoothed off except for the door handles. Wheels are Weld pro star
with 225 x 15 rear and 125 x15 front. Gearbox has Albins gears, super diff and sway away axles.
Engine is 2165 with Bugpack crank and rods, Superflow 1 heads with Scat 1.4 rockers, Wiseco pistons, 12.7:1 compression, Vertex scintilla magneto and
ida webers.
I have had the body of the car complete for about 10 years now and most of the parts for the motor but was just to busy to finish off. Recently I got
around to building the engine and fired it up for the first time about 8 weeks ago. I still have to finish of the interior as well as putting the car
on a chassis dyno.
WOW! that sounds like quite a machine!
I think if I had parts like that sitting around, I'd want to knock it together as quick as possible and get out there and cruise!!
All the best with the rest of the build.
I set up a photobucket account for my photos and then just paste in the address of the picture when writing a post....its easier than I thought it was
gonna be
I REALLY want to see your bug mate, it sounds great!
G day Superflow 1
Where in SA are you hiding? Thats sounds like it will be an absolute machine when on the road

test 2
here ya go!
argh! you beat me to it!
That is a good looking bit of kit mate....any idea of output, or at least expected output?
Now that you've worked out the photo thing....photos of the car are now required!
Thanks, took a bit to figure out photos but seeem to have the hang of it now. Hopefully around 200-220hp from this engine would be good.
aahhhh she is a beautiful engine and a nice car
Nice ride dude
Ah....I see the car has the looks to back up her performance! Nice looking ride mate, well done!
Have just seen your stereo work very inspiring, great work.
Am just about to launch into my type 3 restoration, it's a great motor but is very ratty inside and out am also in S.A
See you out there
J
how do the rocker covers attach?
Oh snap! Very nice. Nothing as inspiring as a work of love.
I am beginning to think that next time I see you a vehicle inspection will have to be done. Oh and confiscate any engine parts you bring in
Still haven't got the square on the road yet, so much to do so little time. Heads weren't loose like the previous owners mechanic said but the
engine is damn noisy. May have to swap it with the spare and then see ASP about the rust and dents. Wish my motor's HP was close to yours but will
have to settle with the three knackered horses for now.
