Newcastle PCYC Lookin' for a Splitty
Newcastle PCYC - June 17th, 2010 at 05:11 PM

Hi all,
i've just been put onto this webiste due to a new program that we are trying to develop here at Newcastle Police & Community Youth Club (PCYC).
We are going to run a crime prevention program teaching teenagers how to restore a Kombi. As a part of the project the Kombi will be repaired then driven on the Iconic Aussie road trip with the Teenagers. The whole time we will be repairing and restoring the vehicle we will be filming a documentry for broadcast.

I am Looking for;
- A Split Window Kombi to purchase.
- Volunteers to assist with the young people and restoration.
- Knowledgable Novocatrians willing to assist with gaining parts.
- Finance is not a huge issue as he have a grant to assist with the restoration and safety of the youth and volunteers.

It would be great to hear from as many of you as possible. i would like to hear why we shouldn't attempt this and also those who believe in the project.

This is going to be the adventure of a lifetime for some of the teenagers that we will be working with why not be a part of it.

Thanks,

Lee Shields

Hey Dylan I know these guys and put them onto the forum. If you able to swing it to assist you could stay at my family home with the boys. Do you have your licence yet as my place is a bit of walk to where this project is going to be carried out.

Hi Guys
My husband Marcus would be very interested in becoming involved in this program as a volenteer. He is currently restoring a VW Kombi of his own at the moment. Please let me know who to contact about this program as it sounds like a very worthwhile venture & would be very enjoyable for all involved.

Hey Rob
How are you & Leesa, Marcus & I would certainly be able to help Dylan with transport or accomodation if he was able to attend the program, so keep us in mind. Always keen to get involved

Hey Jodie, get Marcus to drop into the PCYC near the basketball stadium and ask for Lee. He is a genuin guy who Marcus can have a chat with.
Leesa is ok, I don't think she will ever be right again, but still looking for a new job as the Workers COmp people pulled her out of whee she was.

Red has moved on to a new home in Tamworth to young girl who just wanted a beelte3 so bad and a convertible to boot. Only have the Monaro now.

Hi Lee - hit Steve up at Kombi Rescue. Steve's got the links, the know how, and the heart to get involved I'm sure. I'm sure he'll be away this weekend up at Valla, but get in touch with him all the same.
