Been driving VW's for awhile. I have "restored" a '58 beetle. Currently, I have an Orange '74 Westy w/ 1800.Empi 40's and a Webcam cam. I have a '71 Single cab which will be my daily soon so I can put a 2.3L Ford engine in the Westy.
A friend of mine- who's probably in here already- has a 2.8 Chevy engine in his '73 Adventurewagon. His screen name is Fastmc -I'll check the members list to see if he's here.
Anyway, I'll be lurking mostly and may start a thread on the conversion.
I've heard good things about this site and seen many links to it.

There's not a lot of conversions over here. There are a lot of purists. Then, there's us that don't give a hoot what they think. I have a Corvair adapter. but I was talked out of going that way.
I saw that "utes" in another thread. What is that?
Ford and Chevy engine parts are everywhere here so that's what we use. I'll have the Mexican front grill same as his.

Hi, you guys normally refer to what we call "utes" or utilities as pick ups or tray backs.
Cheers
