Hi all Dave here.
Don't currently own a vw but have in the past & grew up with them. Dad had a 59 beetle when I was young, Mum had a 67 squreback that dropped a rod & was scrapped when I was in my teens & I purchased my 70 1500 beetle when I was 16. Stripped it, resprayed it & fitted a 1600 single port ready for reg for my 18th, but stupidly only kept it 2 years. That was over 22 years ago now so think it's about time I got another 1500 beetle, but in no hurry. Currently drive a modded jeep XJ Cherokee which is our family holiday car so the beetle will be my daily run about. This forum looks fantastic just like the jeep one I'm a member of. Sorry for the rant but bit excited to be thinking vw again.

Welcome Dave to the forum, this place is a wealth of information and lots of people willing to help. You will be surprised how many online stores and Vw specialist who are now available. I have seen a number of restorations where every part on a VW is replaced.
