Introduce self and a pal (Speedster rep)
Philblack - September 5th, 2011 at 12:49 PM

Hi All,
I have just purchased a 1981 Apal (Belgium) Speedster replica with a 1700cc mildly modded and rebuilt type 1 VW engine fitted.
I have purchased from Rancho Transmissions an upgraded transmission with a tall 3.44 diff for relaxed country cruising.
I am now on the lookout for a local (WA) engine builder who can either mod my recently rebuilt motor or build and install a 2 litre or bigger type 1 to pull the taller gearing.
Can anyone recommend preferably someone in WA or if not perhaps interstate ?

welcome aboard, there are a few motor builders here in WA, not 100% sure if billy is doing any at the moment at volkswest in orange grove, mike has left volkspares in o'connor, i've not heard if the new owner is any good yet, peter arnoldi ozzy park works part time, he would be your best bet as he also has a speedster. have a look on the services section of noh2o a local wa vw forum, probably get more useful info there. cheers jon
