Welcome to the site there is lots of information here and plenty of good people always willing to give advice.

Have a look around and have fun with your future vw. Just one question why a 73 model?

DubEnthusiast - January 25th, 2012 at 06:55 PM

My mate of my brother has one, and i love them. But i dont mind at all. I just want a 1970's beetle. :D I dont know much about the differences yet though, but i will learn fast :)

Welcome, be careful once you get one it's hard to stop there!

From what i have been told and i may be wrong but a 68-72 is better than the L bug 73 onwards especially if you want to lower the front end.

I am sure others here will correct me if i am wrong

DubEnthusiast - January 25th, 2012 at 08:52 PM

Awesome because i have a video of what i would like mine to look like once im finished.

Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCQ9r_Fzjzs

yep - you are wrong
L bugs are dead easy to lower ....................... but not slam like that vid

You will be better off with a standard (and they are 60's dubs) if you want to look like them

L bugs and Supers suit more the Euro style

To DubEnthusiast, You should try and make it to Dubs by the Pub this year. Its the first vw show to start the year off. There are usually some vw for sale and will give you a look into the real world of VW'S. Check events for 2012 for more info.

DubEnthusiast - January 25th, 2012 at 09:03 PM
