Just introducing myself. I've driven Beetles since I first got my licence. Actually, just two of them. I had a '65 from student days that I kept
running with gaffer tape, coathangers & speaker wire for about 11-12 years until she finally fell apart.
Now, a mostly original but severely lowered blue & white '66 (with a reco 1600 engine dropped in) that might be familiar to people around the
Inner West of Sydney.
Just re-registering today after a blue slip...had to get a bit of rust cut out from under the window rubbers and a full respray for good luck, and
that took a bit of time. Looking to get more involved in all things VW again.
I'll post some pictures sometime soon
g'day and welcome
You will have to post some pics to see it I recognise her
I've been drivin dubs round the inner west for 30 years now.
I'm sure I would have seen it
Barry
welcome

Welcome from another Sydney Newbie -68 Beetle.
Hoping this works...yep.
That's not me on the bonnet, though, but an ex who liked clowning around like that
Not the best pic of the car, but the main (small) customisations are that the blinkers have been moved to the bumper bar, and there's a small 'hot
rod' style rear view mirror up high on the driver's door.
what part of "inner west are you"
Closer to Newtown. People this way think the inner west ends at Petersham
If you've passed by Elio's garage recently on Ramsay St (opposite the RTA) in Five Dock, she was in their yard for a bit.
Good guys there at Elio's - Elio & Andrew. Got my blue slip there. No nonsense, no bullshit. If they were VW specialists I'd think about
switching mechanics.
Great to hear there's another bug getting around Sydney.....even it is again. Welcome!
