Yep - here in Aust it is called an L bug.

"Super" beetles were unoffically all bugs that had struts, instead of torsion bars

They are also know as a 1303 beetle
Flat screen supers were known as S bugs or 1302's

Lots of info here for us super beetle fans

Thanks for that! finally a definitive answer that it is a super bug!
now im still a noob so i do hate to ask but lowering them?

how do i go about lowering front and rear?
are these a simple torrsion bar rear and strut change over front?

You need to pick what wheels you want
If you want a wide wheel you need to get wheels with the right offset

have a look through my cars changes

This is the best (and cheapest) way to lower a beetle with standard wheels

BEST way is to buy the thin spring struts first go and then you have plenty of options

The rear is just a matter of adjusting the rear spring plates
