... this highroof t2 was seen around bensheim...
im not sure if i should laugh or cry at that oval... :bounce:cry
yeah , i know what ya mean i had to look twice , three times before i could beleive what some 'enthusiast' in da fatherland could do to their oval.
Must have escaped from some where, an asylum perhaps!
Rob...
hey they even made it left hand drive......
now i really think it's more like a Super with an oval window..
look at the front screen
thequarter vent mor like off am L bug also the back q-vent and the black back air vent.
uh ja ei recocknise Torsten se driver
he is se son of the lokal reckink yard owner!!
yeah and those FAT deep dishes on the rear
its a real Dr. Frankenstein model
has to be pre 73 as it has straight windshield, huge lights
an oval died to create THAT?!?!?!
:cry
hmmm, i dont think any oval's were harmed in the making of "that" .maybe a repro oval window insert. how fast was it going in the outside lane of the autobarn?
a whopping 60mph hehehe
my mate who took these pics said she was doing about 150 - 160kph, the side shot was taken at bout 140kph.. still movin at that

P S that is the slow lane
ya overtake on the left in germaskiland
yeah but that is slow in da fatherland..
I had the pleasure of getting upto 190kph going between Dusseldorf and Koln (Cologne) in a brand new Merc E320. Could've probably gone faster (I
wasn't driving, but the driver could've been easiely egged on by me!) but the car had only 1500km on the clock... I dont think the fact that it was
night and raining would've slowed him down...
it suprised and dissapointed me not to see many Kafers in Deutschland...
Rain has no affect on them.
We did 240KM in the rain in a VW Phaton.
And just out side of Kassel.
No stopping them Germans, CRAZY LOL
some people have no idea.
They have a very low road toll I was told.
How does there population compair to ours?
Anyone know.
it cost about $2000 to get your lisence better road education. the racv done a report between our different speed limits and found speed wasn,t a factor to the road toll but driver educaction was a bigger factor.
yeh Malcom, thats dam right! The germans have a much tougher testing and thourough driver education system. They have to have at least 20 ((I think)
lessons with an INSTRUCTOR, not your parents, and they get tested in all road conditions: night, day, rian, autobahn... they may seem to drive crazy
(which they do!) but that is coz they can handle it..
PS: I saw a V10 diesel Phaeton in Berlin! Phat!
:duh wtf - each to their own
on a recent holiday over that way.. i found those german drivers fairly conservative as i had spent the previous 3 weeks in latvia..
where the craziest drivers ive ever encountered are
very scary
little to no rules apply
they are absolutly crazy!
Yeh, I second that! Latvians drive pretty crazy. Although, In italy, they mostly dont even stop for you - they just keep on going around you. So to survive, you just keep your speed and trust them to drive around you... you get used to it though...
mmm.. don't know if i could get used to it..
ooh and the added fun of driving on the other side of the car..
everytime i went to change gears i'd reach for the window winder DOH! lol
i was only there for a month but still hard to get used to
mmm woulda been an awesome experience H, got any more pics of ur travels?
im glad the germans have gotten over the 80's
here is another hard to find classic i passed while going down the autobahn...
mmmmmmmm drool..
and yet another classic..
it was about the onlt t2 i saw being driven around..
maybe the last of a dying breed in the fattherland?
