Camberwell Road: In someone's lucky driveway I keep seeing a new Beetle.... but in front of it (which I noticed this morning) is what looks to be a
damn nice dual cab Kombi ute, in similar blue to my Beetle and it has a white roof. Verrrrry nice!!
Also this morning I saw a very yellow Beetle drive down Camberwell Rd also. I think it was an Oval, and I'm sure I saw some matching very yellow
hubcaps. The dude driving had nice dreads!!
Anyway, they were nice to see!! :thumb
There are lots of cool VW's in Melbourne ! When u said that u saw a yellow oval, I thought that u had spotted me, but I am not a dude and I don't have dreads! hehehehehehe.
Down Burwood Highway this time: I had a dark green Beetle following behind me! Tehehe, a mini Beetle Cruise on my way to work this morning!! Most days as I'm driving home from work (around 5:10pm) down Barkers Rd I usually pass a very clean and original-looking white L Bug, with a suited gentleman driving it. He turns left at Burke Rd, I turn right. :P
Monday driving down Burwood Hwy: Saw the dark green P plater Beetle again, and also a musky pink/purple P plater Beetle in need of some TLC. Both must
go to Deakin Uni as that's where I saw them doing a u-ey to get to. :P
Today: down Burwood rd almost at Glenferrie Rd: A really nice original pale grey Beetle putting along in the opposite direction.
Why don't all drivers of classic VWs wave if/when they see another? I love it when they do!
Yesterday (Tuesday) I was driving towards the city on Burwood Highway, almost at Camberwell Rd intersection.... and what do you think I saw?
A Beetle! But not just any old Beetle.... this one was a full Herbie!! YAY!!! :P:P
The person who drives that dark green bug does go to Deakin.
I put a note on their windscreen one day telling them to get onto these forums and chat, but no replies on here from them
Whenever I drive my vw's I always wave to all other aircooled volkswagens, although most people dont wave back
My bug is currently off the road for restoration and I am greatly looking forward to the purr of the motor in the back!
*did*, hope you get your Bug going soon!
Today as I was driving home, I was on Burke Rd just before turning left onto Canterbury Rd, and I happened to look down a side street, Rye-something
St (can't remember name!). Anyways, I saw what looked to be a very nice deep blue Beetle with some interesting looking wheels parked near the start
of the street.
I also saw a dark khaki-coloured Kombi with a white roof turning off of Burwood Hwy. It looked very clean and shiny! No curtains in the windows.
I love seeing veedubs! *giggles*
Ooooh.... this morning at about 8am as I was driving along Camberwell Rd, I saw a silver New Beetle.... but on my side of the road, in it's super-low shiny blue & white glory, was the nicest twin cab Kombi ute that I've ever seen! It's the one I posted about earlier.... and I didn't catch the rego as I was too busy drooling at it's shiny lowness. It is lighter blue than my bug, with the VW emblem on the front in the same blue, and has a white roof. Whoever owns it must be sooooo proud! :thumb

I keep seeing a shiny dark green 60s bug coming the other way on Grange Rd on the way to work each day. I miss driving to work in my bug
driving VW's are indeed dangerous.....
we spend too much time rubber necking instead of looking at the road! I'm guilty too...
I think the split twin cab is owned by one of the guys at Volkspower? (and was imported from USA?) There was a post about it awhile ago..
yeah its a 59 splitty.. rego is 59-356 - the guy who imports the 356's owns it
Yep, that's the one!! I finally got a look at the rego this morning. It's sooooooo nice!! *wiping drool off keyboard...*
I spotted you this morning Pretty Blue Bug at about 7.30am at the corner of Burwood Hwy & Stud Rd.I was at the servo putting air in my tyres!!
YAY! :kiss
Wow.... four very nice Beetles and a Kombi today!
First one was a deep orange/red parked at Maxi Foods in UFTG. I see this one almost every morning at about 7:15, and one sweet looking ride it is too!
Very shiny.
Second one was a gorgeous deep plum Beetle with white wall tyres turning left onto Ferntree Gully Rd from Burwood Hwy. I've seen this one a fair few
times driving, I love the look of it!
Then on my way home from work, I saw a white Kombi with aqua/green flowers or something painted along the bottom, about a foot or so up the sides.
Dreadlocked dude driving.
I didn't get to catch up to the VERY yellow Beetle on Burwood Hwy just after Springvale road at about 5:30pm, but it stood out at a distance!
And as I was on my way to my gorgeous bf's house around 7:45pm tonight, I was passed by (and then I passed him) a nice '71 or '72 creamy beige
Super Bug.... it was a very nice car, and he got the thumbs up!
My only gripe is that not enough people return the smiles and waves. Snobs! j/k
Oh, I almost forgot about Killakornkob's Beige Beauty parked on Glenfern... :Pnn[ Edited on 24/8/2005 by Pretty_Blue_Bug ]
I saw a nice looking aqua Ragtop Beetle on Barkers Rd at 5:00pm tonight, and then an original orange Beetle on Warrigal Rd just near Toorak Rd
intersection.
No waves from either of them!
Also saw a white Karmann Ghia driving past the Skipping Girl on Victoria Rd, Abbotsford at 8:20am this morning, I've seen this one a few times now!
You see a lot of VW's! I hardly see any - than again, i work from home
As I left work at 5pm tonight I saw a grey camo-paint Bay Kombi with NSW plates.... looked awesome!
Then I saw a pale yellow Beetle and got a nice wave in return!
Next I saw a pale blue-green with white roof Splitty (at Auburn Rd & Canterbury Rd interestion) in immaculate condition!
And all of these I saw within 4 minutes!!
I wonder why I see so many veedubs? Not that I'm complaining! It's not often I see one in need of some lovin'!
Anyhoo, last night I saw a nice orange Beetle with the number plate 'BUGGUY' in Warranwood, and also a verrrry nice Beeytle in deep deep burgundy
with white sides on Canterbury Rd just before Boronia Rd interection (think the plates were KOC 028?)
:P
That'll be Hellbus' "koc car", or so he calls it. I think his wife drives that. It's really nice ride!
It was a nice one! I got a smile from the lady driving it.
Oh, and tonight around 5:45 on Burwood Hwy (near Scoresby road interestion) I got a tiny toot from a khaki Beetle! Just when I thought I'd have a
dub-less day.... :P

This morning on Burwood Rd, saw a white convertible Super.... and then on Barkers Rd saw a pale blue Squareback.
You should take your camera in the car with you so that you can add pics to this thread
I do take it with me! But they're always driving past me so it's never long enough to snap a photo! :duh
Oh.... at 5pm just as I left work, driving on Victoria Rd in Abbotsford I got a couple of nice toots from a wicked looking Beetle as he hooned past
me! It was a lovely light aqua blue and had white sides.
Waves are nice to give and get, but a tooting horn is better!
Last night I saw a VERY nice yellow Beetle pull into a driveway (?) off Warrigal Rd. It had yellow rimmed wheels with very shiney silver hubcaps. Very
purdy!
During the week, I didn't see any Kombis... just a lot of putt-putting Bugs!
I saw the Plum one recently and gave her a wave...didn't see if she waved back though
you are right, it is very nice!
I've worked out that on an average day driving to and from work, I see 4 old Beetles, 2 new ones and 2 Kombis. All different of course!
This morning I saw the extremely nice looking deep orange/red 'LOWBUG'. I usually drive past him when he's parked in Maxi Foods carpark around
7:15am. Then I saw the little old lady in her original white Beetle, near cnr Stud Rd and Burwood Hwy. Such a cutie! And then on Burwood Rd near
Glenferrie Rd I drove past a very clean and shiny original pale green Beetle (an Oval?) Didn't get a wave though.
