Hi
The plates on the trailer look like South Australian plates.
Steve
obviously someone just imported it from somewhere?

http://www.vicsbahn.com/beetles.htm
looked similar to this one???
Wow, good spotting.
Ok so its going interstate then if the cars at Dubbo ???
11/1945 Type 51. Incomplete, as is AU$22,900 thought it looked early
youd think someone would bolt that overider on the right way wouldnt you?
lots of time needed to fix that one
As soon as I saw that pic I thought Graham Lees who used to own Beetle wreckers in Brookvale who was rumoured to have a Beetle from each year from the
40's till the 80's. I think this car was one of 2 sent to Australia for Assessment before official importation in 1954, and it was found on King
island or a similar island parked under a tree looking out to sea!
I saw it at the Penrith Beelte Birthday celebration in 1998 I think.
Maybe he is moving to SA and taking it with him??? Or a new owner
I think there was a dream to have a Museum with one of each model Beelte on display. There were some great stories as to how he accumulated cars over
the years, one vehilce was seen in the background in a story in the UK on 60 Minutes and Graham tracked the story and location down and bought the car
back to Australia.
Cheers,
David
I thought the one that was at Vics and Ex Lees was LHD.
The one on the trailer is certainly RHD.
I cannot get to Vic's website- says its been suspended.
Maybe ,just maybe, another one has surfaced. Would take the number of split Beetles to 30 that are now known in OZ.
countrybuggybill
If it was on King Island, i would of known about it and it would of been complety stuffed. Cars only last 10 years there.....
