I often see an old guy driving along Pirie St, Adelaide, in a cream coloured early Beetle with what looks to be a factory sunroof. It also has its original 4 digit number plates. It would make the perfect Rat look bug, if that was your thing. But would also make a good project (a few dings and a little rust here and there).
that will prob be tom he has a few ragtops but it could be some one else
This 'lil bug isn't a ragtop, it appears to have sunroof similar to the ones Porsche put in the 356.
ok was it one of the steel roof ones then cos i dont think vw made those glass sunroofs
Yep, a steel sunroof.
nice ive heard theyre very rare the only one ive seen is in vw australia i think it was a 60 or sumthin like that
did the numberplate read 2276 or somthin like that
The number plate had 4 digits, white on black. It would be perfect if the digits were 2276, but I don't think they are.
i was just wondering cos there is this guy from sa named aaron and he pics rare vw out all the time and he has the plates 2276 (4 digits) on his type
3 panelvan and ive seen them on his other cars
cheers mattie
