So does anyone know where to go look at or who might have books of paint swatches so I can figure out which VW Blue I like?
Tried all the Northside paint suppliers and they say they can make up a sample pot for $25 a pop but when I have 8-12 colours that I like the look of
I kinda need to narrow it down.
Tried printing some swatches from the interweb but the printer can't handle the subtle differences.
goto the paint shop and for what ever brand of automotive paint they sell they should have colour swatches there.
If not goto a body shop they will definitely have them. They are all only small tho but the body shops mite have larger spray out cards for the
colours your looking at..
Dont use anything that has been printed out as it will not give a true colour, even the colour swatches can be a little out but will give u a fair
idea...
steff.......
I have many early VW Oz codes and swatches from Spies Hecker. You'll be lucky to get them at a paint shop.
By memory early 60's onwards.
I had a customer come this week, he had 3 or 4 different shops (hence brands) mix the same colour from the code, they ranged from 2 different greys to
green .... amazing differences. Beware.
Yea, I'm after a more modern VW blue as non of the original Beetle colours go dark enough for my liking.
Things like the Golf Rallye of the mid 90's upto now. The VW dealers has a limited number on the display walls but they say they connot order the
swatches nor do they keep hold of them. Both of which are a bit silly but there ya go.
S'pose I'llhave to try some body shops then. Funny cos when I lived in the UK 10yrs back all the paint and body shops had books full of swatches
going back to the 70s. oh well........
I'll bring mine to Dubs on the weekend if you want to check it out.
